Probably the easiest way of attracting investment is answering the phone when it rings, or replying to emails.
Out of the 5 people who told me how much of a struggle it was to book the Corperate facilities, not one of them will return in the future.
A minimum party of 10 is £350+. Times that by 5 and then think how many times these people would come back if they felt welcoming and had a good time.
That is if anything , turning away money form the club. Creating a barrier in which fans can help fund the club. Terrible commercial practice.
Plus the website is [SwearFilter] and rarely updated. I wouldn't want my business on there! Id be embarrassed. The match sponsorship is the same person every week, without that theyd be shafted!
If you know who these people are a former member of this forum, could you not point them in the direction of Emma when she takes on the job at the end of the month? I can totally understand how they must've felt let down, perhaps even not valued, but I'm sure Emma would appreciate any help we can give her when she takes up the role on a full time basis.
I can always ask them about it and try.
Unfortunately most of them have just sacked it off. One group even went to the rugby instead and had a top day out by all accounts. He enquired about the day and two older gents in Barrow AFC rugby dinner jackets actually came to him and sorted it out. That is because they wanted the business. We just don't seem to want it and don't seem arsed about doing anything to get people in.
The two SEPERATE groups of contractor lads from here never got a reply to the original email and tried ringing them to no avail. They ended up just going out for meals instead.
This is why the first impression is so important. Whether its a potential customer having their emails ignored or a fan getting the wrong info when enquiring about the replica shirts( if they are lucky to get any). It has to run smoothly and you have to feel welcomed and at ease from the very first point of contact.
I just paid some of my holiday off at travel the globe and the woman in there is a customer service machine! " Pop in this weekend and ill make us a brew and we can chat about those extra things you want to do, ive just got back from there and did this so I can get you the best price on it."
You ring the club to ask if the shirts are in " Its going to be two weeks". You ring them back in two weeks " its going to be a few weeks yet , [ insert fake problem to cover up the [SwearFilter] up made by whoever ordered them].
I sincerely wish the new commercial manager the best of luck because its not just about making the club more money , there is also a way of thinking to be changed and a whole mindset/ club image to alter.
