Its mentioned a lot by many people because it clearly shows the people running the club arent arsed about 'small' amounts of money any more, further evidence is that the club continue to ignore fans attempts to get money over the counter.

Now now, don't be negative/realistic.

I wouldn't call getting the shirts in before the season starts (yes, we know, sizes, yaddayadda) & Addressing the CM situation, Ignoring the fans.

The club is undergoing a sea change across the board, mistakes are bound to happen, Some people love to dwell on any negative instead seeing the good developments.

Dixon, Livesey. S Williams, Grand (just be more careful with back passes), Parry, ARH, Howarth, Lacey. Cook, Walker, J Williams, Cowps = 12

Sign Tomlinson, Sutton, Cunnington (Bromley) +1 left back (NWA if available) +1 winger +1 striker(Bogle?) +2 midfield = 8

Carroll, 2 Newby's and Eccles to the reserves if we have any - or out on loan

Get rid of Mellor, Fofana, Grimes, Pilks (good but too injury prone), Symington, Ashton (good, but too slow and Cox favours taller players)

that should leave the odd space for loan players.
Keep Lacey? are you serious, does he actually know Barrow play in white? he cannot pass, he's lazy, he will not chase opponents down, need I say any more?

A sea of change?! Theyve swapped cassons son around for someone else Mike. Theres a club to be run off the pitch and nothing ( literally ) has been done during the time here.

Just try for once Mike to defend the club and please try to realise you are thousands of miles away and are completely out of sync with whats going on.

You give us match reports from the game on whats been said by Radio Cumbria for God sake! Give it up!

Does anyone really know what has been happening behind the scenes with regards to the commercial side? Surely its not just about the shop which I agree has had its issues. Unfortunately that's all he fans see and comment upon . How many new advertising boards do you see around the ground? New advertisers in the program . Is that not commercial ?

Commercial role usually used in attracting investment in the club by way of sponsorship and other general fundraising activities, including ground and website advertising, programme advertisements and match sponsorships,

To be fair though, a lot of the advertising boards around the ground are from the same company - take them away and it wouldn't look as good
Man of the match sponsorship - same person all the time
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

We used to get good revenue in from hiring out the facilities to groups such as BAE, the Health Service and Prince's Trust etc. That money helped to keep us going through the latter part of the Keen's era.
I wonder if we still do this?

Probably the easiest way of attracting investment is answering the phone when it rings, or replying to emails.

Out of the 5 people who told me how much of a struggle it was to book the Corperate facilities, not one of them will return in the future.

A minimum party of 10 is £350+. Times that by 5 and then think how many times these people would come back if they felt welcoming and had a good time.

That is if anything , turning away money form the club. Creating a barrier in which fans can help fund the club. Terrible commercial practice.

Plus the website is shite and rarely updated. I wouldn't want my business on there! Id be embarrassed. The match sponsorship is the same person every week, without that theyd be shafted!

If you know who these people are a former member of this forum, could you not point them in the direction of Emma when she takes on the job at the end of the month? I can totally understand how they must've felt let down, perhaps even not valued, but I'm sure Emma would appreciate any help we can give her when she takes up the role on a full time basis.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Absolutely.
Great place to start. Give her their names and contacts and let her build the bridges.
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

I can always ask them about it and try.

Unfortunately most of them have just sacked it off. One group even went to the rugby instead and had a top day out by all accounts. He enquired about the day and two older gents in Barrow AFC rugby dinner jackets actually came to him and sorted it out. That is because they wanted the business. We just don't seem to want it and don't seem arsed about doing anything to get people in.

The two SEPERATE groups of contractor lads from here never got a reply to the original email and tried ringing them to no avail. They ended up just going out for meals instead.

This is why the first impression is so important. Whether its a potential customer having their emails ignored or a fan getting the wrong info when enquiring about the replica shirts( if they are lucky to get any). It has to run smoothly and you have to feel welcomed and at ease from the very first point of contact.

I just paid some of my holiday off at travel the globe and the woman in there is a customer service machine! " Pop in this weekend and ill make us a brew and we can chat about those extra things you want to do, ive just got back from there and did this so I can get you the best price on it."

You ring the club to ask if the shirts are in " Its going to be two weeks". You ring them back in two weeks " its going to be a few weeks yet , [ insert fake problem to cover up the [SwearFilter] up made by whoever ordered them].

I sincerely wish the new commercial manager the best of luck because its not just about making the club more money , there is also a way of thinking to be changed and a whole mindset/ club image to alter.
