One comment that's 'food for thought' - it was made by a steward - so only 'hear say' obviously.
The steward informed me that Paul Cox's decision to leave was based on him not receiving an increase in salary (he'd asked, apparently). However, I have to say, I took the steward's comment with a 'pinch of salt'.

I also heard from a steward we had a millionaire as a owner and ,Nick Anderton,Ritchie Bennett and Jordan Williams were being sold to bring in equal or better players and it was ridiculous to think he was trying to recoup some cash.

Aye. Just like "nobody" knew things like signings before they were announced. The people I have spoken to in the past have usually been bang on with regards to club news and I doubt that they would gain anything from telling me about Paul Cox sudden (if you could really say that) departure.

Sure, things aren't exactly screaming out investment at the minute but you even admitted yourself that you are forming an opinion off stuff that is not definitive. Maybe try waiting and seeing what happens in due course rather than slating the club for something you aren't actually 100% sure about yourself.

If you say so. I don't think you could be more wrong though. If he wanted his cash back then he'd have pulled the plug on other things like the floodlights which are still being completed. Just because things aren't going at the pace we would like does not mean that they aren't progressing. We might not have a new ground pop over over night like Fleetwood and you know who but we will get there. The new manager when appointed WILL have money to spend too.

I've been a critic in the recent past of Casson but having been given a bit of insight to life at the club under Paul Cox' reign I am now fully behind the owner. We will get a decent manager in who will still have a decent budget. If Paul Casson could just stop the daft statements putting too much pressure on the squad then we might just have a shot at going about things quietly and sneaking into the promotion picture. We don't have the worst squad about and with a couple of tweaks and a new managers fresh input it'll be fine.

So you're saying for some reason, not linked to finance, Casson enforced some sort of Transfer Embargo.

Chris Benoit has probably told you as much as he can on a public forum. You are are going to have to find out for yourself what went on. I would just say that you, Pedro, et al might be better tempering your criticism of the board and Paul Casson.

This is getting like the worst of pub gossip.
Lots of posters are trying to turn speculation, assumption, guesswork into fact and put it on here as fact.
As though they have a reliable link to the truth and all that's recently gone on.
As an example Azalea has just posted "Casson told Cox there'd be no more signings". He might be right, but no one, including himself, knows that to be factually accurate.
What will happen, assuming Casson doesn't bale out, is that a new manager will be appointed, and we'll all have to be patient until the side settles down and deal with it.
It's a bit like hysterical schoolgirls at times.
It doesn't really matter how the situation has developed, and who was at fault if there was a fault, now that it's happened.
What matters now is that we are in, and maintain, a financial position to attract a decent manger who will get the best from our current players.
The negative, live in the past, bashers should be careful what they wish for. If suddenly there's no money, there'll be no players, no management, no infrastructure at all and it's free fall into oblivion.
