I think the main problem is most people see where we were last January and, with a few additions, could probably have gone on and finished in a higher position, maybe even promoted. This was our best ever chance and everything since then seems to have been a step backwards

Makes me think that the club did not want/not ready for promotion and thats why they never strengthened in the January.

To be accurate it's 13 steps backwards at the moment!

Result apart, it was a cracking day out at Hartlepool yesterday, with a number of Barrow supporters staying overnight; we were still putting the Holker Street world to rights in a local hostelry until well after midnight - much coffee was needed at breakfast today!

The Rat Race micropub on the railway station was well worth a visit for a couple of pints of local (well, local to Barrow - it was from Coniston) ale, and to be greeted by the question "Whereabouts in Barrow do you come from?". It turned out that the owner's wife was a Barrow lass and he knew the town - and Ulverston - very well. In fact the glasses he was using originated at an Ulverston beer festival!

That must have been quite a journey from southern parts! I doff my cap to yourself and your fellow travelers.
A couple of Barrow fans living in Teeside couldn't make the journey due to a rail strike!

I seems Barrow had the better of them on the night. Could our fortunes be changing?

Lots of games yet. When the injuries are sorted we will be stronger. A short good run will bail us out. End of November key date to review?
The 90 day plan has gone. Paul Ogden couldn't live with it. He adopted the 12 day exit plan.

Most are target men up the top end of the scoring charts, and it was the same last season.

Decent footballers don't make it this far down, If they do they go back up again. Its all about physicality or spending loads on high quality footballers so they aren't tempted away.
