So when Mike Ashley was involved in the sports direct saga, Newcastle United should have announced that? It’s a private business matter. It affects the club indirectly so it’s fair game to discuss on here but suggesting the club should be announcing it just plain dumb.

Spot on, if Newcastle United put out a statement every time anything happened with Sports Direct there would be statements being made every day and the same principles apply here, this is nothing more than self-interest shit stirring.

Talked briefly about mistakes made and had been a tough at times but rewarding 2017

There was a fair bit about how much PC liked dealing with Pennock and the professionalism brought, especially with injuries- clearly the Paul Ogden wage has gone on the fitness guy.

Ady Pennock has wanted to make sure if anyone comes in they are better, not just more bodies

He was put under a bit of pressure 'are you going to back him' and their argument was (and has always been btw) that they have backed all the managers financially. "Can count on the fingers of one hand when we've said no"

Not much progress on the Commercial appointment- Christmas and AC being away has made this so, some applicants but they are re-advertising I think

Kit is soon, there a re a few companies possible re kit, Joma? with a bespoke kit or New Balance which I suspect will be off the shelf appear front runners.

Me personally the issue with the kit isn’t the suppliers themselves as such it’s more that alongside the shirts there should be a decent leisurewear range, polo shirts etc etc available
