Re: Whats happening to our club
Funnily enough that's because there wasn't one.
We do crave an announcement but tbh the less AC 'announces' in the paper or wherever the better, on the evidence of the last few years. A point that has been made to him on several occasions.
On the other hand, Pennock was adamant (and irritated tbh 'I'm not ere for a jolly-up') when pushed on whether there was money for signings or not at Meet the Whoever 4 a couple of weeks back, insisting that wasn't the case and he had finance available. Despite what people reading on Twitter, or those sniping on here might think, they got pushed on that point and the poor performance of the side.

Re: Whats happening to our club
Could the 'massive' signing have been Simon Ainge who was switched from a centre back to striker at Harrogate and gone on to score 35 goals in 53 games. He has joined Wrexham in a straight swap for Scott Boden as the latter wanted to return to Yorkshire for family reasons. So perhaps there was no money involved and any interest from another club would be superfluous. Possible, but we will probably never know

Here’s something’s to consider- have you ever thought it might be our own fans who are doing more damage than good with the constant negativity.blue nige wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 11:01 amAnd it's things like this that put people off the club obviously pennock must have been confident about these players it must be really frustrating for our management team the trouble seems to be that Paul / Andrew Casson are trying to run the club to try to lose as little money as possible I can see that but in reality if you want to be a success in this league and given where we are (having to pay a bit extra )and our gates .potential revenue streams would be highly unlikely. You have to accept that it takes a few years to get the club anywhere near this situation.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 11:32 pm What happened to the two players (one an exciting signing from National League North) arriving?
I don't know whats gone wrong but I would just like to know where as a club we stand if we cannot afford this league then fine just let us know but these constant sound bites from Andrew Casson are doing more damage than good!

The same fans that let the club go to a guy who promised everything, delivered precious little and never comes near the place now. We do have a lot to be grateful for but not many folk like being lied to. I for one am trying to put it behind me and just support the team - poor though it is. We have to deal with the reality and the fact is there is not a lot to be 'positive' about at the moment.Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 2:52 pmHere’s something’s to consider- have you ever thought it might be our own fans who are doing more damage than good with the constant negativity.blue nige wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 11:01 am

We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Yeah, I wish we were in the Evo-Stik leagues too
Re: Whats happening to our club
Maybe one of the players in question had a better offer elsewhere, Wrexham maybe.

He's getting called by the Mail and answering their questions. If nobody said anything ever then those amongst our support who are a little hard of thinking would be whining about no communication, kept in the dark etc etc. Some folk are only happy when they have something to moan about.blue nige wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 11:01 amthese constant sound bites from Andrew Casson are doing more damage than good!HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 11:32 pm What happened to the two players (one an exciting signing from National League North) arriving?

Firstly let me say he stepped in when no one wanted to.
I questioned what he did in the aftermath of Vaughan I know alot of supporters who stepped in and did there bit.
Personally I think he has got tired of the amount it's costing him and has started a exit strategy ,hence his son has been given the role.
To those who say well I rather we played in the Evo stick league well that's the way we are heading
It would also help him recoup some cash by a move away.
He has had his adulation when he bought the club.
As AC said on Radio Cumbria that his father raised expectations to high ,finally straight talking
Football League
New Stadium
Let's get team sorted then look at the ground!
Players wanting to come play for Barrow - how that's changed
Four Managers in a season all wanting more players, public statements that we will back the Manager as and when but not happening.
Owners who cannot divest themselves of there association quickly enough
Barrow AFC has become a poisoned chalice for Paul Casson.
I think we will have to reform once this tragedy plays out

I'm not sure if you're commenting on the negativity on here or by our fans in general?Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 2:52 pmHere’s something’s to consider- have you ever thought it might be our own fans who are doing more damage than good with the constant negativity.blue nige wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 11:01 am

I think you need to take stock that this site really doesn't attract that many people from our fanbase ( I know many who have never even visited this forum) and far less in terms of people who actually contribute to it. If it's negativity in general - that's been going on for decades in our town whether we're winning or losing. The fact that Paul Casson made
promises which were to be incorporated into his five year plan and has let supporters down on most of them hasn't helped matters, however.

I take your point but I think you also have to look at the fact that that he has lost over £2M since he bought the club. The Tomahawk Kid wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2018 3:00 pm The fact that Paul Casson made promises which were to be incorporated into his five year plan and has let supporters down on most of them hasn't helped matters, however.
Attendances of less than 1000 won’t even cover the current costs.
It’s easy to say he has broken his so called promises, but to me they were more like visions of where he would like us to be, rather than promises.
Any business constantly has to review its position taking into account current circumstances and they have to cut their cloth according to the current trading position, which is what he is doing.

A grown man and so-called multi millionaire talked openly in the press about engaing three different architect companies to come up with three different concept designs for our new stadium. The supporters were going to have a say in which plan was chosen and I think a supporters group was even formed with a view to help chose the scheme.
I personally don't want to keep banging on about this but let's keep it real - this fiasco of a story won't be 'spun' nor history re-written on my watch.

Re: Whats happening to our club
If you had lost £2M would you consider spending more when there are now less than 1000 at home games?
Yes he is a wealthy businessman (allegedly) but you don’t get wealthy by throwing good money after bad.
Yes expectations were made, but I seem to remember a story that when he saw the quotes for the stand his face drained and he was visibly shocked.
Give the man a chance - without him there would be no club to moan and gripe about.

There's a reason there's only 1,000 at the home matches if you can't work that one out!barrowfan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2018 6:30 pm If you had lost £2M would you consider spending more when there are now less than 1000 at home games?

Answer a question by all means does that mean just say anything ?little hard of thinking ,well at least some of us don't bury our heads in the sand !Lancaster Branch wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2018 12:34 pmHe's getting called by the Mail and answering their questions. Let's re-cap what's been said better players will be brought in, transfer money will be invested in the squad looking at new stand at the crossbar end telling us that moore was the right man for the job ,7th not good enough isn't all that enough to make even the most loyal fan be a bit annoyed!
