As before, Ady loves 1 - 0 wins. Very amiable with fans and the regular slogan from here was:

"In Ady we trust".

Could be wrong here but from off the top of my head and without checking stats I reckon that's 9 away league games under Pennock and it breaks down into 6 wins, 2 defeats and 1 draw . . . making 19 points out of 27. That's League Champions form.

So where are we going wrong . . . ah, the home form . . . well, the bleeding has to stop some day. How about 21st March? (2018 that is).

One of my most dire memories regarding Barrow came in late 1966 when we played Hartlepools (in the days when there was more than one of them) and were coasting comfortably at 2-0 only to end up losing 2-3 to a Brian Clough inspired comeback by the opposition. I can still remember feeling numbed by the abject shockingness of the turnaround, even though we did still get promoted about 6 months later. Of course nobody knew much about the Pools manager as it would be a few years before he started to become the mega-legend that he ended up as. It's nearly 52 years ago and I'm still waiting for payback time. This week??? Please. Let it be.

OMG. Has Pennock lost the plot?

Well, seems I was wrong. According to those that went he played quite well.
Doesn't mean I agree with him starting. He has been truly awful when playing at Holker Street.
But Ady picked the team and they did the business.....well done
Did we find out what was wrong with Bartram?
Biggest game of the season Wednesday. Could do with a large crowd to shout the team on....

Once again it's difficult to explain to those who haven't left HS this season how different the team can be when playing away.

I think part of it is the positive support they get from those who've made the journey and get behind the team from the kick-off to the final whistle.

At Holker Street the moaners are shouting as soon as a pass goes astray, and continue to do so all game.

Over the last ten game period, BAFC now second in the table for away points achieved (19). 20th for home points (8). Says it all really.

Not a surprise we won.

We've competed with all of he teams at the top we've played recently and should have won a number of our recent games if we could have put the game to bed.

Don't think we were any better yesterday than the last 4 games. Macclesfield were the best team I have seen this season. and will win more games than we lose to the end of the season

I think from what I have seen of Makoma (Wrexham at home) is that he is technically a good footballer he just isn't really suited to football in the conference never mind a relegation battle in the conference, also I don't think we've ever figured out what his best position is, if he can build on the good performance at right back and carries on playing well lets keep him there as I think he could be a bit of a rough diamond as there is a footballer in there somewhere I think.

Makoma is probably (if not definitely) the most potentially skillful player we have. His footballing academy in France must double as a ballet school as he is the only player we have that can receive the ball, pass, and pirouette in a single movement. His first 5 seconds on the ball are nimble and sublime. Unfortunately somewhere between seconds 6 and 10 he tends to get tw*tted, usually by a big burly midfielder. I think we might improve his game if we gave him clogs rather than boots. This is not a slur on the French - both Gomis and Diarra are pretty lean but they are also pretty mean too.

In retrospect putting Macoma at right back was not as daft as might have first appeared. He does compete and has endless energy and good pace so he's not easily outrun and in that position will tend to be up against smaller nippier wingers running at him, and where his Body Mass Index is less of a problem. His only potential problem yesterday was that he still has a tendency to wander from his position on occasion but generally speaking he did pretty well. His instincts are positive and it was noticeable that he linked well with Waterston in getting the ball forward quickly. Wouldn't surprise me if he is seen in this role again before the end of the season.
