According to the NWEM photo caption of Ady celebrating, we won 10-0 on Saturday. Did I go to sleep during the commentary?

Well he's been quite canny. If he'd had the one yellow he'd have got a 2 game ban for totting up 10 yellows, but by getting a second yellow his record is just a red card which means 1 game. I think I'm right and it will be the Hartlepool game he misses.chipmunx wrote: ↑Sat Mar 17, 2018 5:02 pmas the sending off was for 2 yellows is it Hartlepool or a week today he misses?whitty1969 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 17, 2018 4:59 pm Huge result.

Remember back in the days of black and white tv a lad from Ulverston called Jimmy Armstrong. The manager at the time (McEvoy ?) switched him from a right winger to right full back. His argument was that he had too much time to think on the wing and often made the wrong decision, a luxury he didn't have at full back as he had to be constantly alert.Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Sun Mar 18, 2018 11:49 pmMakoma is probably (if not definitely) the most potentially skillful player we have. His footballing academy in France must double as a ballet school as he is the only player we have that can receive the ball, pass, and pirouette in a single movement. His first 5 seconds on the ball are nimble and sublime. Unfortunately somewhere between seconds 6 and 10 he tends to get tw*tted, usually by a big burly midfielder. I think we might improve his game if we gave him clogs rather than boots. This is not a slur on the French - both Gomis and Diarra are pretty lean but they are also pretty mean too.geobarrovian wrote: ↑Sun Mar 18, 2018 9:16 pm I think from what I have seen of Makoma (Wrexham at home) is that he is technically a good footballer he just isn't really suited to football in the conference never mind a relegation battle in the conference, also I don't think we've ever figured out what his best position is, if he can build on the good performance at right back and carries on playing well lets keep him there as I think he could be a bit of a rough diamond as there is a footballer in there somewhere I think.
In retrospect putting Macoma at right back was not as daft as might have first appeared. He does compete and has endless energy and good pace so he's not easily outrun and in that position will tend to be up against smaller nippier wingers running at him, and where his Body Mass Index is less of a problem. His only potential problem yesterday was that he still has a tendency to wander from his position on occasion but generally speaking he did pretty well. His instincts are positive and it was noticeable that he linked well with Waterston in getting the ball forward quickly. Wouldn't surprise me if he is seen in this role again before the end of the season.

Jimmy played on the left wing. His right foot was for standing on.
Re: Maidenhead v Barrow Match Thread
The manager at the time was Staniforth, who switched Jimmy to full back. Jimmy currently attends Barrow afc home games, and sits in the stand with his wife.

No ambition. They have a plastic pitch and therefore want to stay at this levelBennyfromormsgill wrote: ↑Tue Mar 20, 2018 8:41 pmsurprise surprise bromley making 5 changes from saturdayMark Johnson wrote: ↑Sat Mar 17, 2018 6:54 pm To suggest play off chasing Bromley will rest players is odd. They have found a level where they are probably stable at for now. And with other revenue streams coming in from continual pitch usage which leads to club facility usage then staying put is likely a more viable option than promotion at this moment in time for them.
