Well I suppose he has to say something every time the NWEM ring him up and ask him. And he probably knows that supporters want to know.

Saying that, he does not seem to be the greatest master of the soundbite or the written word. A simple no comment would do or if he wants to be more transatlantic something along the lines of "when there's something to say I'll say it".

He seems to be of that type that feels that something needs to be said to convey the message that a process is being pursued even when there is no visible momentum. Less is more they say. And he really should try to avoid using a phrase like "due diligence". Its an interview process not a takeover bid.
And if he says to the paper no comment people would take into that that we aren't getting a new manager and before you know it someone is on here telling us they start building houses on Holker Street next week.. Was there even any new quotes in that article today or just a filler made up of old quotes

If the club can't build something sustainable over the next couple of years, then I fear the worst my friend!!
The only way to make that happen is to lay their cards on the table and at least give assurances as to how they intend to do this, I read the trust minutes and Andrew Casson said a few things but as usual there's no foundation as to what he says there has to be more detail to get people on board and at present they're failing miserably! .

I said a few weeks ago that many bridges have been burnt along the way and it's going to take a heck of a lot from people within the club to right a lot of it. But also means us as supporters having to cut a lot of slack and moving on. The recent Trust meeting was a major olive branch for me, it's just a shame it wasn't the club asking for the meeting that's all. Anyhow now there is dialog and hopefully it will continue with Andrew asking for the meeting next time and just maybe before long the outcome of such meetings bear fruits. But it's all up to Andrew and Co as I see it as the ball is in their court!!

One thing I am getting concerned about though. And that is we are in danger of overshadowing England's World Cup bid if we leave any announcement beyond tea time on Monday. :scarf: :scarf:

Wouldn't surprise me if we were holding out on appointing the new manager to save a few quid!

Maybe we're waiting for Southgate to get sacked after England crash out in the group stage.

Heard this as well. Be just like us to take someone who took a team down to this level.

Sounds like someone else is clutching at straws. As if we don't get enough of that on here.

Three games as caretaker - one win two defeats - they were as good as down before he was given an impossible task. The negativity on here is the one bit of consistency.

I thought Red Adair Andrew said we were looking for a up and coming person who had not Managed at National League or above?

@BarrowAFC are set to name their new manager in the next 24 hours.

The process has been delayed this week due to late applications.

Its also been delayed because of a lack of electricity.
