The benefits of a ground share surely massively outweighs the negatives, Should have been done decades ago IMO.
If my memory serves me right it was planned to happen in the 70’s with a new all sports stadium to be built on Ormsgill playing fields but the council refused and wanted it built on contaminated land down at the old Furness Railway site off Salthouse Road.

Or am I just dreaming !
I don't belieeeeeeeve it!

Colin Appleton wrote: Thu Nov 15, 2018 9:47 am Surely if any ground share came about the way forward would be to sell Holker Street and Craven Park and move to a new purpose built stadium which would have plenty of car parking and conference facilities.
+1 we need a modern stadium that needs less maintenance. Add a gym and 3 G pitch etc to raise money on non match days
If possible a shared stand between back to back pitches.

"Surely there's someone with BIG MONEY out there who can make our dreams come true?"...........I really thought you had more sense than to type a ridiculous sentence such as that. Take a look around you.The town of Barrow is f..... and Ulverston is following suit, their's no money in the area.
Jesus you are one miserable [SwearFilter],what do you do for fun?? The towns booming, businesses are flourishing, bae has gone from 2,800 employees up to 9,000 in the last 4 years. House prices are the highest they have ever been, more expensive cars being driven around than ever, tradesmen in the town have never had so much work.Back to the football,we have had [SwearFilter] all for years and survived im sure we can continue in that vain, hard times yes,but some good times along the way. Cheer yourself and try and post something upbeat.
I'll tell you what pal. What you want to do is drag yourself into the [SwearFilter] real world cos if you think "The towns booming and, businesses are flourishing" your living in cloud cuckoo land !!. Take a [SwearFilter] look at the Mails houses for sale every week-there is next to [SwearFilter] all for sale you Drongo.
"more expensive cars being driven around than ever, tradesmen in the town have never had so much work". Well I'l tell you what pal, the tradesmen you mention aint spending their money in the [SwearFilter] town are they, what more proof do you want-there are shops shutting all over the place.Expensive cars !!!!, how naive are you pal, they aint paid for-they are all on lease and the never never-the majority of these tossers owe that much that they can hardly afford a pint at the weekend-let alone go to the football !. The majority of those tossers that work in the yard dont spend their money in the town pal, wake up.

There's always someone who has to do the area down!

Well-answered by Jo Am Back.

BTW where may I lease a car that doesn't have to be paid for?

Plenty of money in Barrow. Just a case of getting people to spend it at football.

The town is no worse than any others... If the town and a lot of the people stopped playing the victim maybe it would thrive more

Absolutely right.

Why do we always play our town down?
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
