Meanwhile, a talented footballer who is wanted by Barrow - and possibly others - is not currently playing and so not earning any money from the game. He should really be having a word with his agent as to why he is out of pocket.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 2:57 pm
As you’ve said earlier, agents do, in the right circumstances, have a role to play - it’s when it gets out of hand like this seems to have done that it starts to annoy the ordinary, everyday football supporter. It’s beyond me how these lot seem to get away with all of this...

Re: Agustien gone
Correct, hopefully stories like this episode do the rounds amongst footballers and this type of agent/agency are found out.Steelworks End wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 4:01 pmMeanwhile, a talented footballer who is wanted by Barrow - and possibly others - is not currently playing and so not earning any money from the game. We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: Agustien gone
Not to worry Steelworks - I'm sure the agency will be paying him the money he would have had from Barrow for last Saturday's game.Steelworks End wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 4:01 pmMeanwhile, a talented footballer who is wanted by Barrow - and possibly others - is not currently playing and so not earning any money from the game. Re: Agustien gone
Tail wagging the dog there I think. The facts remain that time is not on Augustien's side, he's 32 and unemployed. One thing puzzles me (as Columbo used to say) how can Evatt be unhappy with comments that John Goodwin has made? It's not the first dig either in Goodwin's direction; does he listen to the commentary during the game or is somebody in his ear and winding him up?
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...
Re: Agustien gone
May be the first time, Wintergreen. I think the reference was possibly back to the original comment re John Goodwin.

Agree.Lancaster Branch wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 11:25 am I think a few folk are overreacting in terms of the comments on Saturday about the fans. He prefaced it by saying the fans had been great all season and he was disappointed that the players got stick rather than encouragement on Saturday. That’s fair comment in my eyes.
Many other freelancers tend to avail themselves of agencies. Same in teaching, elsewhere.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 12:25 pmMany people in my former life as an IT person work from their own companies and have to negotiate their salaries with an employer.

Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 11:59 amTotally disagree. I’m fairly convinced that to call someone naive and arrogant is a criticism, and in fact it’s an insult. In my opinion it is also totally unwarranted.
Re: Agustien gone
Well I suppose it could have been seen that way but was not meant to be.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 1:10 pmNo apology necessary because I’m not offended at all. Pedro suggesting that Evatt is naive and (in particular) arrogant is an insult to Evatt, not me.
One of the best Managers England never had was arrogant but successful Brian Clough
The naive was meant he is learning his trade and probably reacts quickly than a more experienced Manager.
I realise some people are sensitive and
if I offended anyone I apologise
Re: Agustien gone
The agency seem to tweet about all the motorway journeys that their 'agents' make - maybe they spend so much on petrol that they want us to cover the costs...
Also, the latest laughable tweet from them is about a Hastings striker signing up to them (which they did a 24hr countdown for) and linking him to Man City. I'm still not sure if the whole thing is a wind-up.

Re: Agustien gone
Is he lined up for another club? If not, is it too late to get this back on? From the interview it was all but done?
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

He didn't get a wage for last Saturday and he won't get another until he signs for someone. Nice to see the agency working in the interests of their clients!whitty1969 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 9:30 pm Has he actually signed for anyone yet?

Re: Agustien gone
They say timing is everything. In this case the lack of timing in terms of getting him another club tells you all you need to know about his Agency. Looks like he'll end up at a NL club and maybe not on any more than he would've got by staying. It should be dawning on him by now that a couple of further months at HS would have done both his reputation and the club a power of good. As an ex-Prem player there'll still be a margin put on his head by those trying to hard sell him. However, this will actually scare a few away at our level - especially in January. Looks like his remaining career will feature little more than a few games here and there. Sad.

Re: Agustien gone
Surely Kemy has realised by now this crowd have not only ballsed up a deal with the club but haven't got anything else for him lined up elsewhere which has left him no longer earning. At 32 time is not on his side & needs sorting out.
