I think there is a need for plumbing items if anyone has any bits and bobs lying around that is spare please.
It is rewarding when tasks are completed and an improvement has been made. Today I finished cleaning the First Aid room and I don't know if the fridge in there was ever used (I certainly hope not 😯) but it has been replaced with a donated fridge which is in pristine condition. It has been stored in the maintenance area for sometime so thank you to whoever donated it. Ee find a home for everything.

I think I remember the ice machine Dave. If I’m not mistaken that was that for use at the training facility. Anyhow, I’ll find out.
Ok, thanks Ian 👍

I’ve checked Dave and it looks like the ice machine was never bought.

Thank you to capman who once again has paid for something out of his own pocket for us.

Also a mention and thanks to Steve Leonard who once again has made another donation to the GMA kitty.

Apologies if I miss anything it was a busy morning.

The other exit gates have been replaced today (by the away end) and repainted
2 other gates have been repainted
The crossbar/corporate rooms have been cleaned
The ground and surrounding areas have been cleaned again. Amazing how much rubbish collects on the floor next to an empty bin....
The maintenance area has had another spring clean.
The electrics have been started for lighting at the crossbar gate.

Many thanks to Bob in cafe who once again fed us.
Edmundsons for their material donation
Also Ian has had more money contributions. He will update later....

Pretty much covered it all there Neil. A cracking morning with up to twelve volunteers doing their bit. Great to have the opportunity to sit down, have a brew, something to eat and a craic with everyone mid morning thanks to The Bob In Café once again. I don’t think for one minute that when they originally offered their services they thought they’d be doing it every Sunday for over three months.
The donations Neil mentions were off the Ambrose via capman and another off a gentleman who handed us an envelope with his generous donation inside, I think he wanted to remain anon but thank you anyway.
Once again PH and MH popped down for a chat with everyone which included a few ideas of what can be done to improve things around the ground.

It’s nteresting stuff Andy but to be honest, I’ll only know the basics, plus it’s only ideas at the moment. I do know they’re interested in what skills we have available that could be used to help out. A good builder would come in handy....know one 😁

Decent turnout in quite cold conditions this morning, especially with three or four regulars unavailable.

West terrace floodlight bases are a step closer to being removed after Mike Forsyth spent another morning hammering, chiselling and grinding away on them.

Our two leccy’s completed the first part of lighting up the Nodding Gate with an interior and exterior light, the whole Nodding Gate will be completely refurbished in the coming months. The next step will be putting lighting alongside the path.

We cleared out the turnstiles in the garage/Holker St end which might result in them being totally refurbished and allowing them to be reused once again, the idea behind that is to reduce the amount of people walking alongside cars entering or exiting the car park, it’ll also give people direct access to the HSE.

A bit of work was also started on the away fans toilets to bring them up to some sort of decent standard before next season.

Big Al did a cracking job sorting out the bottle tube from the X Bar to bin that had become totally blocked, it was that bad it took him most of the morning.

Another emergency exit gate was given a coat of yellow (as was the floor....best not go into that to save the culprit from further embarrassment)

Ground has once again been litter picked by the Worlds best litter picker. As I gave him a lift home he pointed out a bag on the outside of the ground and said - that wasn’t there at 9:00 am, I think he wanted me to stop, I didn’t...litter picking machine that man!

The turnstile in the away end has been fixed and is now ready for Tuesday night.

A note for those who use the turnstiles by the main stand. They will probably be closed from now on and the turnstiles under the Trust shop will be used instead, they’re in a much better condition for supporters and the turnstile operator to use.

Once again Mark & Paul paid a visit and stopped for a chat with everyone.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Where is the nodding gate?

Also talk of turnstiles brought to mind something I’ve thought for a while and that is to have one turnstile on the popular side that sells tickets for the grandstand, especially now that people are being charged for the car park. This would mean supporters could walk around the inside of the ground instead of being close to the road, particularly on Wilkie Road.

No doubt this a matter for the Board rather than this group, but is it a practical idea?
