Wrexham v Barrow
Re: Wrexham v Barrow
Evo’s reaction:
“I’m very frustrated. It’s a measure of how far we’ve come that we’re devastated to have lost that game.
We should have been 3-0 up at half time, we missed two guilt-edged chances that you can’t account for missing.”

Re: Wrexham v Barrow
It's just one game and not an indicator of how our season is going to work out, but what disappointed me was that the story of the game was so familiar from last season - dominate the first half, miss chances, concede a goal just after half time then lose our way.
Towards the end of last season, though, I think we got better at getting a goal away from home then playing with grit and determination and holding on to the lead. Early days and, as Evatt mentioned , Leyton Orient lost their first 4 games last season (and Chesterfield won their first 3), so anything could happen in the next 45 games! I guess the time to worry will be if we are not showing form and consistency after 10 or 12 games.

Re: Wrexham v Barrow
Quigley is obviously Blyth's younger, less-gifted brother. Problem position already.
The back four are too slow and we need someone with a bit of pace back there.
The manager wants to lay off the match-officials and get tore into the shirkers on the pitch.
Don't want too get carried away however two mid-table teams served up a mediocre match.
The major worry for me is the way we wilted, these are meant to be professional footballers, match-fit and ready to run for 90 minutes.
Can't be tired already can they?

Re: Wrexham v Barrow
Here’s a stat for you and I’m sticking it in the match thread because that will give it the most visibility. Of the 30 goals scored today in the National league 14 were scored from headers either delivered from set pieces or from wide positions. Defences up and down the league guilty of being out fought and beaten to the ball by the forwards. Key to success in this league right in there folks

Only key stat you need to win games is to score more than your opposition and not waste guilt edge chances.
That is what we were guilty of today.
We go again Tuesday

Re: Wrexham v Barrow
Basically 2 players were having something to eat in a popular burger establishment as many people do across the country on a Saturday night but this isn’t allowed because we lost to Wrexham 2-1 on the opening day of the season
Re: Wrexham v Barrow
They get Dominos pizza ordered to the Crossbar after a home game too. What’s the problem?PerthBluebird wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2019 11:06 pm Just seen two off our first team lads smashing a five guys in Trafford centre athletes haha no wonder there not up too speed!
Re: Wrexham v Barrow
Dismiss the point by all means, but you see it week in week out all over the games. The successful teams in this league are the teams who can deal with that delivery into the box. 14 goals scored this way today, with gilt edge chances missed everywhere.
