Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC
Re: Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC
A number of us were unable to travel at the planned time due to the A590 closure and chaos on the alternative country lanes.

Re: Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC
Two games in a week, folk away on holiday and shocking weather for August made for the low attendance. Even if the weather had been decent i suspect the crowd would not haven much over 1350.mickycarrol wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 6:11 pmQuite alarming how so many have dropped after only one home game. How do we win them back? Obvious one is win football matches but that’s a huge drop so quickly.
Well done on the win much needed now let’s build on it Tues

Some people make a decision early in the day based on the weather, which wasn’t good this morning. Hopefully today’s result and at least a point on Tuesday and decent weather next Saturday will bring a lot of them back.mickycarrol wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 6:11 pmQuite alarming how so many have dropped after only one home game. Angus could have been the league's leading scorer had he converted chances in the three games. I think he will come good with a little more confidence.
Re: Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC
Given the atrocious weather conditions, this was a most impressive performance all round. Barrow had to play into the worsening conditions after half-time and managed it with no little skill and absolute determination. Good performances all round. Frustrating incosistencies on the part of the referee and the liner borrowed from the netball court for the afternoon.
A well deserved win. Well done everyone,

Two goals and a clean-sheet to accompany three points. Excellent. Hopefully this is the first step of many in the right direction. Positives to be taken!

Think he’s great, what a turn of pace he has. He will score. Think he could have laid one up for Quigley who was in a better position though with one of them.Middleton Nick wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 6:28 pm Angus could have been the league's leading scorer had he converted chances in the three games. Also he should have scored but passed to Quigley who did, but was offside.Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 6:59 pmThink he’s great, what a turn of pace he has. He will score. Re: Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC
Terrible conditions and terrible officials
But clean sheet, decentish performance.
Should of had 4 really. Some poor decision making and shooting.
Thought Quigley played well. The lad Dyson looked great when he came on. Maybe keep him in for Harrison on Tuesday??
Onwards and upwards....
Disapointing crowd. But poor weather and a quick look around the league and there are lots of poor gates..

Re: Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC
Lets be honest it was due to the horrific performance against harrogate not holidays and weather christ if its the weather then when it comes to nov-dec when its 0 c with horizontal rain they ll be nobody there then eh?Floating fans will give any excuse not to go and sadly the performance did not help. The fantasy that we are a club that can get 1500 per game is a fantasy them days are well gone to stay in this league and balance books the board need to carry on the way with the sponsorships great efforts to plug the gaps , we are small frys in this league and wether people like to admit it or not our crowds and following are more suited for the league below. Todays opposition wont be anywhere near the top so fair play an improvement but will be interested to see after the next 2 games how we get on. Re: Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC
One of the biggest problems with our crowds is the last two home games have attracted away fans, in total, not enough to fill a coach. This is always going to be the case although this year we have two northern clubs, Stockport and Chorley to boost the attendance. Apparently last week Stockport took 900 away.
As for home attendances fluctuating. We are used to it at Barrow, but it happens everywhere when you lose a few games.
We are a 1200/1400 average club unless something happens, like being top of the league.

Re: Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC
If we are winning our home games and we are consistently in the top 3 or 4 in this league crowds of 1800+ will easily be achievable in my opinion.
Re: Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC
I think they were playing a different club, with Byron Angus, Joe Dixon and Oliver Dyson.whitty1969 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 7:58 pm AFC Barrow ???

The BBC report says Dixon is the Eastleigh goalkeeper.
