that would filter down the leagues in one of 2 ways;-

1) IF the NL don't get their act together it will end up with team numbers as follows - PL (22) Champ (24) Div 1 (24) Div 2 (22)
2) IF the NL do get their act together - PL (22) Champ (24) Div 1 (24) Div 2 (24)

and by get their act together I mean decide on the final league table. IF the NL is voided there will be no basis to promote teams and the EFL will follow it's own rules and invite 1 club (probably us) to make up the numbers. IF however the NL table is agreed on PPG - either over total games or with separate home and away PPG then the EFL would most likely take the top 3 teams from the NL to keep Division 2 at 24 teams.
Clubs like Notts County will need to be very careful how they vote because in the end they could cost themselves a place in the league by being pigheaded.
Agree in principle with this, but the detail is difficult. If we are invited in (personally I think it's a distinct possibility at the very least with the Bury factor), who gets promoted from L2 to L1 to get the numbers up to 24, presuming there is no promotion/relegation elsewhere? Crewe currently top, but only on goal difference from Swindon who have a game in hand - sort that one out...
Alternatively who is going up from NL when the promotion structure (excluding the champions) involves a series of play offs?
All very difficult to be fair to everyone. What we need are decisions very soon.
We need a decision soon - but i doubt we'll get one until the lockdown is extended again in 2 weeks time.
IF the PL is extended to 22 teams the top 2 from the championship and Div 1 will go up - and the top 3 from div 2.

If it all goes down to play offs imagine if you cannot pass from 2 metres would it be a booking or sending off?

No more football would require the Prem to call or void its season. Problem with this one is that the Prem clubs can probably realistically engineer a completion behind closed doors when its possible so social distancing would not be much of an issue. Even if there is a desire to stop the likelihood is that other European Premier Leagues will be able or willing to finish. Unless they all stop they'll continue to follow the UEFA line.

Having 22 clubs in L2 would not be ideal even for a season - and we dont even know whether some of them will survive. You could end up with under 20 clubs capable of starting the season. But again we would stand to benefit so bring it on.

UEFA's meeting yesterday effectively said it's ok to not finish the seasons due to the pandemic and that countries clubs would still get their places in the Champions League and Europa which was the main worry for Leagues across Europe... so when the lockdown gets extended again i think you'll see the Premier league PPGing the season then.

There is a strong suggestion that social distancing measures are going to be in place for many more months, perhaps even into next year. So even if we are able to move towards some restrictions being lifted, i really think that crowd gatherings, from pubs, restaurants, sporting events, concerts etc, we will not see a return to pre covid-19 normality for some considerable time.

I can see pay per view sport with restricted crowds. Including us, becoming a key feature when football returns.

I see and chat with a lot of Police and Emergency services in my job and the suggestion on pubs and clubs is very little chance this side of Christmas. So spectator sport will be similar.

I think this is the way this is heading, so football and other industries at all levels who rely on gate / footfall revenue, its going to be a very difficult time.

UEFA are definitely starting to give a little and there will come a point where they will want to focus on next season rather than the current one. I dont think they will sanction any voiding of leagues so as to safeguard Euro qualification so if the Prem declare on a PPG basis that's fine by me. Although given the clubs in an around the euro places include the likes of Spurs, Chelsea, and Arsenal dont expect that to happen without a cat fight. For that reason I think they wont reach a decision on the Prem before we do on the NL.

A vaccine is the game changer and not much chance of that this side of Christmas.

I lived in Hong Kong for a while in the mid eighties at a time when spitting in public places amongst the Cantonese speaking community was almost endemic. It was then outlawed as it was considered to be a major cause of the spread of TB. It worked.

You might well find Pedro that spitting or nose clearing on the pitch does become outlawed. I wont shed any tears if that's the case.

My opinion is we shouldn’t go up as the games weren’t finished and we still had teams to play. Therefore i think we should Null and Void
