And what nonsense would that be then ?Moribund wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:16 pmI was joking mate - I've seen a lot of the nonsense you used to churn out on the Carlisle board. Let's just say I'm as sceptical as all the other Carlisle fans that populate that forum.NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:41 pm
Ha Ha Try getting your facts right
I said i know DH ? Which I do he used to be married to a friend of mines daughter.
In with the Top Brass at Carlisle ? You're having a laugh. I've been physically assaulted by a previous owner's goons and been a thorn in the side of the present regime since the day that they took over. It's over 15 years since I was a confidante of the last decent owner the club had.
Feelers out in the Bolton Boardroom ? Actually I said i.d had an e.mail from a Bolton fan One who over the past 3 years that i.ve known him has been spot on with the info he passes on.
There's some on here who need to learn that once your back in the league there are people who will know more about what's going on at your club before you do. In fact, just this afternoon I had an e.mail from the General Manager at a North West based League One club about one of the threads on here.
If you look back over the 100 plus posts I.ve made on here in not one of them have I posted anything on any subject that i.m not up to speed on whether that be North West Lower League Football, Football Grounds or the Coronavirus I get to see about a hundred games a season in both the FL and below something made considerably easier by where I now live which is something you guys will learn very quickly. But if you're wondering what my connection to Barrow is I was born not much more than 20 miles from your ground and followed your exploits for two reasons firstly I remember the time you guys paid Parkside Road a visit one afternoon before a night match and redecorated the ground and the other was that I followed the career of one of your talisman players who I used to tangle with in his days playing at Ulverston in the Kent Valley League where we used to get changed in the stables at the back of a pub.
Most people on there know full well who I am and my credentials some of them are very nieve and gullible some are just complete wind-up merchants but I can tell you there's a damm site more sense been posted on here in the last few weeks as can be evidenced by the tumbleweed blowing about up there. But I guess that's what happens when a club's fans don't even know who owns the club.

Don’t think too many are interested in your second hand hearsay. You appear to be high on confidence, low on ability - a dangerous combination. Also give off a definite aura of being covered in self inflicted love bites.NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:41 pmHa Ha Try getting your facts right

Taking quotes from other interviews and cutting them into his directive
Evatt is not going to Bolton - again nothing to see here

Two excellent reads, cheers Ste. Quite emotional really.
Re: Ian Evatt
I think he's savvy enough to know that even if someone does offer to buy out his contract he would be much better staying with us ftb.
He knows the lads and has got them playing a great style of football that is a joy to watch. He has a group of players he wants to mould into a better team than they are now, and he will need to because they will come up against some tough teams who will want to put one over on the new kids on the block.
He has a Chairman and BOD that are local and fully supportive. As Hornby said the club is in a sound financial position with last year's loss being paid off by the directors.
If he goes elsewhere just now he has to start again, and could be working with a club that's in a lot of debt and he could be sacked at a moments notice.
If he stays with us and does well in L2, which I think he will, then that's time when it really might take off for him, and we could well lose him then, but if he's tempted away just now it could all go pear-shaped and he becomes just another journeyman manager.

I think IE will almost certainly get to at least a playoff place this coming season and no I am.not deluded or just wishful thinking. IF and it's a big IF we.did.somehow mange two promotions on the bounce (not impossible) inthink IE would still stay on and push again. Sounds pie in the sky but in current climate, apart from the premier league where else would he want to.be? So long as we keep.filling the stadium and developing the ground and generally growing as a club, I think.and hope he would.stay on and take.us as far as he possibly can and to be honest, that could be to the bloody moon with this guy!!
He has ambitions no doubt to be a top league manager or even England manager.but has had one promotion, get another one or even two promotions and his worth and demand would increase.a million fold...
For now though, let's just enjoy his leadership and savour this momentous time!
P.s IE if you ever leave.i.will cry like a baby pig, sulk.like a gurny teenager. Please.dont leave...

Re: Ian Evatt
I'm afraid it is pie in the sky. If Ian Evatt gets an offer from any Championship club or Division 1 club with large support, he will go. He's actually said himself that he has said as much to the board. He is an honest man but he is ambitious and IF Barrow have a good season at this level he will start to get good offers which would give him a salary many times the amount Barrow could ever offer him. Many clubs will want to see how he fares as a Football League manager but if he continues to be successful then he will be a wanted man.olbarrafancumbak wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2020 7:29 amAgree with most of this.barrowfan wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 8:51 pm I think he's savvy enough to know that even if someone does offer to buy out his contract he would be much better staying with us ftb.

Re: Ian Evatt
Agreed. I hope we will have him for at least the next season, but if he continues to be successful he will move on sooner rather than later, with our undying gratitude. I hope he will leave an ethos in place and even mentor and develop someone to carry on the good work.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2020 10:49 am If Ian Evatt gets an offer from any Championship club or Division 1 club with large support, he will go.
