Wouldn't happen in that way anyway. No matter what chatter there is, the sign of approaching departure would probably the BAFC board allowing official access to Evatt by Bolton. That will only happen if agreement on compensation is achieved (probably).

By the way, not that its relevant but in my opinion the story put about regarding Darren Moore being an alternative to Evatt is probably also a fake story. Nobody around Doncaster Rovers seems to have taken that story seriously. I think it was invented to give an edge to the Evatt story. My guess is that Bolton dont have too many alternative options other than an internal appointment or a reasonably priced unemployed manager.

No point keeping someone who is not happy, but I would be gutted. Bolton are one of many clubs who could not be here in their present form in 12 months time, massive gamble for him if it goes wrong, no player, manager or owner are bigger than the club.

Can't blame a manager for trying to better himself - in his opinion. Even if he doesn't go to Bolton he will leave us in the next 12 months.

The Board is quite rightly trying to make sure that the club is not disadvantaged financially - that is their job.

If Evo stays for the time being we should all get behind him until such time as he moves on.

Simple its about selling Labour and I do not think he will want to tarnish brand Evatt although I was worried when he said he was a Man Utd supporter and admired Ferguson other PLCs are available,

Let him walk away and a Tribunal will set the fee plus this early on in his career it looks bad.

Why would we want it to go to tribunal? We wouldn't see any compo for years!

Needs sorting asap either way, all the other clubs will be getting a head start in terms of recruitment etc, we've already had a hefty delay to see what league we would be in, get it sorted now then plan accordingly, poor from evatt if he leaves imo but rather him go now if his hearts not here

Quite agree but let's stand by the Board. They gave him a better contract which he was happy to take. A contract of any sort has terms and conditions. If he wasn't fully aware of them his agent should have been.
You can't just push teams like Barrow around.
Stick out for the proper combo Mr Hornby and then we move on.
Maybe with Bolton it's - can't pay - won't pay.

If they can’t pay the compensation for Evatt they won’t have the money to get a manager from a league one club will they

Their alternative will come out of the batch of interviews that they have already conducted - Evatt is their 1st choice no doubting it but it’s either pay up or shut up on that factor - the “alternatives” would certainly be cheaper options - all depends if one of them impressed in their interviews

I actually see him staying now as a potentially bigger problem because as others have pointed out this will be like groundhog day until he does eventually leave and he will be linked to every vacancy at L2 and above (which is a compliment to both Evatt and Barrow) - therefore if prospective new signings know this will they be reluctant to committ to us if they think the manager may move in a few months.

Exactly, almost like paying the price for a bit of success here. Unfortunately, we are a stepping stone club, whilst some may think that is a good thing, i hate the prospect of that as it means that any success that comes our way, those behind it will inevitably move on. I know, it’s football and happens all the way through the levels.

Sadly that is absolutely true and has also been said, everybody is a feeder club to the Premier clubs and even the majority of Premier clubs are feeder clubs to the top 6!

Dead right. Bolton are the club that needs saving. We do not.

However we should not be too hard on IE however this turns out. He's done absolutely nothing to interfere with or force the hand of the board thus far. He's playing the whole thing with a very straight bat. And you cant really judge someone by what they dont say in this situation.

Unfortunately for many, because of what he's helped achieve at the club he has assumed the status of superhero or legend in many peoples eyes. A few may now be realising that evaluation was a little excessive. He is just a damn good manager with a lot of potential who is intent on fulfilling it as he sees fit - which we probably all have aspired to in our time. I would only caveat that by suggesting that his choice of suitors in Fylde and Bolton are both less than convincing in different ways. There is part of me that wonders about his judgement but that may just be me.

This clearly cant go on for much longer. If the impasse is the compensation then I cant see the BAFC board shifting its position. Bolton need to put up or pull out.
