Presume your only allowed 2 tickets per director or something?
Otherwise Paul Hornby could just invite 500 people down to join him

Glad some will get the chance to see it fingers crossed we all do at some point this season.
Great idea & obviously numbers had to be restricted but why can’t we have 5 or 6 fans, Tiny numbers but treble the chance of being selected might just temp more to sign up to the Trust, Just asking?
See Stevens reply in other thread as to why that can't happen.

Tbh we're lucky we have two it could have easily been zero and I doubt other supporters trusts will get this.

On TV last night Sean Dyche said 'Why should the Premiership help out smaller clubs. You wouldn't get it elsewhere in business. A high-flying City financier wouldn't bail out a back-street organisation so why should football be any different'. If thats the attitude of one of the lesser lights in the game what hope is there.
To be fair he’s right
It’s not up to the premier league to “bail teams out”
If I was in debt I wouldn’t expect someone I know who is paid more than me to pay off my debts

What needs to happen is for the FA and EFL to sort with the government for a finance package
The Government should let the Premier Swivel the majority are PLCs let them struggle they advance to the detriment of the England National team.
None league clubs had the FA cup payments cut and more goes to the bigger clubs.
Let's hope that a side effect of Covid is some Premier League clubs go to the wall Burnley would be one of the first.
Dyche advocates the policy of the pig trough, the weakest are left to fail.

Agree with it or not, Dyche is surely entitled to his opinion?

Because yours is different, you are suggesting that the company he works for should fail, its employees lose their jobs, the club's supporters should be denied the focus of their interest and an unfashionable, off centre, Lancashire town, misunderstood and looked down on by some (sound familiar?) should be stripped of one of the main things by which it is known nationally?

"What needs to happen is for the FA and EFL to sort with the government for a finance package". Yes, in saying that you are correct. But, for Dyche, in such a high profile position, to say what he did-is disgusting when one considers that Macclesfield went under for the sake of£500,000 on the same day it is announced Gareth Bale is on £650,000 a week. Something is clearly not right in the game.

Teams at our end of the spectrum aint living within there means thats a fact. Them prem team make huge profits and pay these lavish wages to players they can and will do its as simple as that how absurd payments came about for players in the national league is beyond me not so long ago national league was a part time league its pretty much fully professional now with no big gate increase or tv rights per team whats makes me laugh is teams folding blaming this on covid which is absolute tosh they ve been in the minus for years and covid has been the last nail in the coffin to push them over the edge

There we are - was waiting for the facile Gareth Bale point to be made. He gets paid that much because they can afford that much. He nor Spurs have a duty to pay for lower league club debts. Dyche is right - although I haven't seen the clip so no idea if he was as blunt as that post sounds.

Is it the Premier League's fault that League 2 clubs are struggling? No. It's because of them that this country pulls in such huge TV deals and clubs get parachute payments and we in the fourth tier get a small cut - doubt that happens in most countries.

The FA has a shit load of money, so it should be doing more to help out, but if the government can help out some of the huge companies in the country cover covid costs, it should also help out everyone to the same degree, including us.

And people point to the Gareth Bale wage blaming the premier league
Real Madrid pay Gareth Bale 650k a week
Tottenham are paying 50% or that with Madrid the other 50

Surely it’s not about individual clubs, it’s about the game as a whole. I agree that I’m not going to be paying Adam’s debts and he will not pay mine , but I think that’s missing the point.

Football as a whole constitutes many clubs at many levels , and at the top /elite end (including the EFL 1&2) the health of all clubs is paramount if the game is to survive as we know it.

There have and always will be clubs who are badly managed and fail. The threat now to all clubs , especially at the EFL level, is existential- not something they have caused or can do much about. With no income from the primary source through no fault of their own even well run clubs face problems that could lead to their end. Is that what we want ?

Football is a family, with rivalry and bitterness , and hopefully some love and respect too. The family needs to pull together and help those like Barrow who could face difficulties that could end our dreams altogether. This needs to be articulated in a clear strategy , with the stronger members (Premier League) doing their bit for the less fortunate. Otherwise the game will not survive in its current format. Given the history and tradition of the English Leagues, that is not something I would like to see. I’m not advocating saving clubs for the sake of it - what has happened to Macclesfield and Bury is sad but largely of their own making. What’s happening now to all clubs (potentially fatal loss of income, through no fault of their own) is totally different.

The chairman has previously said that the club has made full use of the support, including the furlough scheme, that the government has offered - which is not limited to 'huge companies'.

This is the point for me. It's not paying a football clubs debts, it's keeping the teams and the sport alive. Bit bemused by Dyche's stance on it.

You pays yer money, you takes yer choice. It's either survival of the fittest or we're all part of a wider food chain. One produces a sterile, rather one-dimensional product, the other a varied, vibrant and healthy eco-system. The lower leagues are the worker bees of the football world. Lose them at your peril.
Don't let the old man in.

Yes there is money in the premier League but why should Burnley be responsible to fund the lower leagues as much as Man City? Burnley pay low wages, probably lower than championship sides, low transfers, no debts, whereas other clubs hemorrhage money and live in huge amounts of debt.

If the PL "bailed out" the lower leagues then who bails out one of the PL teams when they go tits up like Wigan? There would be an argument they are owed a debt then.

It's very complex but I don't buy the PL should just give everyone money argument.

If HMG are happy to subsidise McDonald’s i’m sure they’ll be happy to help out football clubs who have planned according to the guidance and timescales set out by the DCMS.

Refunds for fans, contract subsidies etc.
