One precaution could be to only post season tickets out to those currently in tier 1,2. If it transpired that some from tier 3 have attended the club could be culpable of negligence.

that's why (i would guess) that Carlisle are actively telling those in tier 3 areas that they are not allowed to attend at present.

The restrictions may change again in a couple of weeks so I think it is right for the club to send out season tickets to all those that have purchased them.

It's up to people to police themselves I'm sure the club will advise against travel.

It's up to those in Tier 3 to abide by the rules themselves. I don't see how the club can be made "culpable of negligence" as they haven't misinformed anyone or made them do anything...

Where do you stop? Do you want a restaurant or bowling alley to check your address when you book?

Where are the club going to find the time to go through over 1000 addresses and check which tier they are in?

Surely the club can have a fair assumption that the fans will abide by the laws and legislation of the country and only turn up if they are allowed to.

Quick point if they are posting them out they are kind of checking 1000s of addresses as got to separate the locals for collection anyway, so have got the time.

I'm a Season Ticket Holder and live in a Tier 2 area. I'll be attending the Salford game if all goes well as I can combine it with a long overdue, lockdown-prevented visit to stay with my 94 (95 on 1 January) year old mum in Barrow and get some jobs done round the house for her. Life must go on, within the rules.

My email correspondence with Anya at the Club:

"I intend to travel up to Barrow after lunch on Thursday, 3 December so, hopefully, will have received my Ticket by then. What I am a bit concerned about is if there is post delay and I fail to receive my Season Ticket by lunchtime on the 3rd. It happens, although being signed for shouldn't hopefully....but you never know.
I will be unable to pick up my Season ticket in person as an alternative on the Thursday (despite it being up to 8pm) , nor on the Friday, due to the 4pm closing time for collection.
My question is, will there be a contingency plan for those who are travelling and don't receive their tickets on time? Some form of electronic proof of having a Season Ticket that could be shown, perhaps?"

"Rest assured; all season ticket holders will be able to get into the game on Saturday."

IF that's official it would mean any Barrow fans living in Lancashire (as they are in tier 3) would not be able to attend matches even though we are in tier 2....

That's quite ok as far as I am concerned and I only live around the corner.
One of them can have my place cos I wont be attending Holker Street until there is a vaccine readily available.

I seem to remember reading some Covid regs or something from club that you are not allowed to give your tkt to anyone else if not going.Makes sense so people just got to be patient.Hopefully this game go ok and next home game lots of people in.

I think that announcement is sensible and covers the club. I hope Barrow put out a similar warning. If not I think they leave themselves wide open.
In all of this I think we have to remember that people are still dying.

If the prime minister's chief advisor can travel the length of the country and go for an eye test at Barnard castle then I don't see how someone driving to barrow and standing on their own outside for 90 minutes is an issue.
