So sacking Dunn is the only option we have?
Ultimately, if results don't improve very quickly then yes it is.

I'm not saying we are there yet, but we're edging closer with each passing "unlucky" result.

Let’s give him another 16 and see where we are. We haven’t had back luck for 14 games. Unbelievable but we’ll see. It’ll be Weymouth or Wigan next year.
So sacking Dunn is the only option we have? If we were being dominated and playing terrible tactics like the long ball over the top like cox used to? If you didn’t know Paul cox was our manager a few years ago who’s only tactic was the long ball over the top, you probably didn’t know barrow had a football team before evatt came in.
Ah yes Paul Cox who gave us the best days out we’d had in years and the winning feeling. Unbeaten in what was it 26/27 games or our highest finish in the national league at that point and a trip to Bristol rovers? But it’s okay as that doesn’t matter as he played a different way and got results but he didn’t play it on the floor and get beat every week :) So by your logic because we play a more attractive style these days Under Dunn but not getting results it’s okay and Cox played hoofball and won isn’t?

It’s heading in the right direction, cut out the mistakes and we won’t be dropping points. It’s down to the players to realise that they shouldn’t have done X,Y and Z. It’s down to Dunn to coach it out of them but ultimately he can’t control Kay diving in and getting booked or brown diving in and giving away a dangerous free kick, or Hird doing unnecessary pass backs that put Dixon under pressure. Individual mistakes are costing us these games you can’t deny that

I can't say I was a fan of the type of football played by the Cox team but we were pretty successful. However, unlike some, I haven't been impressed by the football played by the Dunn team this season and it's a long way from that played by the Evatt team last season. Instead of pressing quickly to win the ball and moving forward quickly when in possession with midfield players who could beat opposition players we now struggle to get possession and move forward very slowly generally passing the ball sideways with nobody able to run with the ball from midfield. The only similarity between last season and this season is that we are still passing the ball on the floor instead of hitting in long in the air but the speed with which we do it is hugely different.

I disagree. We have played long aerial balls from defence much more than last season, especially so in the last six games, and invariably having gifted the ball to the opposition as a result

I agree that we have played more long balls in the last few matches but we still aren't in the same league for that tactic as the Cox team for long balls when almost every goal kick was aimed to the head of Liam Hughes on the touchline and lots of long balls hit for Richie Bennett to try and head on to Byron Harrison.

Last time I checked the vote on here (only 85 cast) 54% in and 46% voted out. I would hardly call that most, nor is it a good enough sample.

Tell you what if 46% of my classes parents wanted me gone, I wouldn't have much longer there.

Maybe you should be teaching them about how a majority vote works then your job might be safe 😂

The main difference in the football this year compared to under Evatt is that it’s much slower. Yes we still keep the ball well at times but players are either keeping hold of it themselves for too long or are too slow picking their pass. There isn’t much use of quick one/two touch passing anymore or balls in behind which is how you catch defences out.
Ask defenders what the one thing they hate is and it’s genuine pace, do we have any?

You are right that our build up is often too slow. Angus has pace, but often lacks touch and control. Kay has pace but blows hot and cold. Reid is probably quite quick too.

Quite a few of the players are used to playing the quick moving, short passing, fluid, one touch football from last season. That means we would attack with speed, though not necessarily individual pace.

Also when it’s passed, the pace on the ball is slow. It doesn’t zip fast enough.

Ive never felt in any game that we have been outplayed or outfought. I would definitely like to see us do more when out of possession, especially pressing the opposition from the front and putting in a tackle higher up the pitch! Work needed on our set pieces too, but the biggest area where we need to improve is undoubtedly in taking “good chance” goal scoring opportunities. How often are we arriving too late in the box, or needing an extra touch. Not scoring in games is costing us, in many games more so than the defensive mistakes. Up to now, none of our forwards have hit goal scoring form or staked a “must start” claim. It was something like 20 shots v Salford with at least 3 good chance scenarios not buried and that cost us. Seems obvious to me where the problems are and DD on the sidelines cant help it we keep missing good goal scoring opportunities.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.
