Praying whoever it is we have lined up is currently training with the squad, it’s vital we dont waste Sat as another opportunity to use the current squad who have already proven to be far too inconsistent.

Really thought a couple of decent, proven L2 players would have been named by now. Can’t leave it until last minute in the hope they slot straight in after signing on a Thurs/Fri.

I'm afraid there's little chance of getting "proven" L2 players unless you class over 30s over the hill players who have been at a dozen clubs as "proven". Why would any good L2 players be available to a club near the bottom of the league who probably pay much less than the average L2 club? If we want to improve the team, we need young players from higher league clubs on loan and/or GOOD NL and NLN players with ability who want to step up into the EFL.

Best chance maybe loan players who want to make an impression. Just like real life, unless you are mega wealthy, you can't buy yourself out of the crap. Just hope (and as I've always said hope is not a strategy) we get someone special who can turn things in our favour

Yes bring in new players if they can improve the team but i don't think its the priority for Jolley. Looking back on some of the points dropped from good positions i would say improving our tactical discipline and game management all over the pitch with the current squad will improve things more than any new players coming in.

Agreed, but no one has been able to say, hand on heart, that our current squad is obviously good enough to thrive in L2.

It was going to be a struggle even if we had kept our manager and playmaker from last season. However, what will be will be, we’re still in with a chance.

This is Michael Jolley we are talking about, not Billy Graham.
What more evidence do people need that the current squad is just not up to the task of keeping us in this league. I'm not saying he wont improve things but, without quality additions we are headed for another disastrous season only this time in the national league where we will be one of the whipping boys.
Harrogate have just made five signings, all quite decent by the look of them. Make no mistake, this is serious - this is sh!t or bust time big style. For depending on the calibre of player the club brings in, or doesn't bring in, will have an impact on which league the club plays in next season.

Harrogate have just made five signings, all quite decent by the look of them.

I had a quick look on BBC Football and read about 3 of the signings. If we had signed them, I don't think too many on here would have been ecstatic! Defender from National North Kettering, a 20 year old midfield from Norwich who doesn't appear to have any EFL experience and a striker from Forest Green signed from non league in January with 2 goals to his name.

Most of these signings made by other clubs will have been negotiated before Christmas and only concluded once the window opened. That is a luxury we didn't have as we were literally managerless during that period. We are only a week or so into the window. Jolley said on RC that these things take time as there are many strands to pull together,agents,players and both clubs.I would rather time taken and right people come in than panic signings.Mentioning Burnley and the Dyche/Jolley connection I was impressed by the young lad Mumbongo who came on in their FA Cup game last weekend (not involved against Man U last night)

Dan Jones wasn’t a loan signing when he was with us - he was our player

Yes he came back on loan towards the end of last season but I wouldn’t exactly class him as an inspirational loan signing as he only played a couple of games before the season was curtailed
