Having watched the game back this morning the thing that strikes me is that we are still a team with very little confidence despite the new additions. Bradford appeared confident and organised, hussled and chased every ball, gave us no time on the ball and our players were in the main only to keen to ‘get rid quick’. Confidence comes from results .... and the manager. We are clearly better than we were but just need to have more belief and composure on the ball and don’t be as worried about making a mistake! I would hope that these new additions will help with this. We also need to not be scared to put a defensive tackle in!
Bradford game was always going to be tough - playing a form team with so many debutants. I was surprised Devitt didn’t start as Quigley clearly needs some support but I see the green shoots of recovery. Tough few games coming up but we are going the right way ... slowly.

So your blaming all these new lads & gaffer for Dunn’s Duffers results??

Strange logic, These Newbies will take a handful of games to really gel & learn their team mates styles of play & our tactics etc
Had 2 weeks together most coming in are already match fit from the clubs they have come from. Never ending excuses not good enough end off perform better next time.
Davies, Donahue, devitt Thomas (at this level),Bramhall I'm certain none of these have played 90 minutes for a few months please can somebody correct me if I'm wrong ( still think wrong formation though didn't help!)

I sincerely hope you are right but if you aren't I feel the club will be back to less than 500 regular supporters and owners who've sunk in a massive amount of money that they will never get back!
You think we will be having gates of less than 500 in the NL. Don't think so.

Maybe a little bit pessimistic I agree, but based on the the fact that many will be so disappointed that we have come down after a 48 year wait. I remember it's not so long ago that we were pleased when the attendance reached 1000.

most comments on here and i agree are saying about sloppy goals we give away, surely we have to build from the back and start playing a flat back four, platty looked well out of place being shunted to the left of defence , we need him in the middle with tom davies alongside him. we also need four across the middle ( two wide men, bramhall and kay ? ) dispence with this so called link player and play 2 strikers right down the middle , how often do we get round the back ,play a ball across and no ones there to finish off . this 3 -5 -1 - 1 or 3-5-2 formation isnt working. Also we need to close opposition down more quickly and higher up the pitch and play a higher tempo game like we used against cheltenham, teams in this league , even the top ones are not that good when you close them down. watched carlisle yesterday and all they do is hassle players all over the park, not pretty but its getting them results . RANT OVER

Lot of new faces in the squad now and some who haven't played for a while so it will take time but that isn't on our side.
Need to eradicate the sloppiness and mistakes that are giving goals away, and to play with a bit more urgency - pressing, more pace and speed going forwards. Hopefully the new players will give us that. A big part of last seasons success was the ability to win the ball back quickly with high pressing and tempo, we probably didn't really have the legs for that with the team as it was.
A lot of games coming up now almost 2 a week over the next month, going to be a tough month which will go a long way to deciding our fate.

Jolley did say yesterday if another striker became available better than what he already has then he would be looking, so wouldn't rule that out still yet.

I have faith but probably counting Southend out and assuming there's one relegation place to be avoided...

Can’t think for a minute they are expecting their money back - ever. Ownership, or part ownership of a club at this level is hardly an investment. It’s spending hard earned cash to help your beloved team. I don’t think we will be relegated. The team played well yesterday against the most improved side in the league. I can only predict improvement for us as well. The board have done their thing with the dosh, and then some it seems. The players who have been brought in seem to be proven performers with the exception of youngsters Bramhall and Thomas, but they have a reasonable pedigree as well. No deadwood on the face of it. As for striker - who is available, affordable and inclined? I would say Jolley has the drive, brains and ambition to succeed. I’d guess 99% of us would settle for survival in our first season back, now we are ½ way through and taking account of our current standing in the league. Being as objective as possible I’m sure we will stay up. Something will have to go mightily wrong for us not to.

I must say I do agree with 'holkerboy'- though I would go a step further and say the writing is on the wall. I get the feeling that Grimsby are doomed but, Southend United will somehow claw their way out of the relegation battle which would be just our luck.

An interesting reaction to a bit of a poor performance against Bradford.

Thought it was a finely balanced match (& a good match) and despite the defeat remain confident that we have the players to get up the league and will finish the season strongly.

I can't decide whether "we're doomed" or "don't panic". ;)
