Re: Kellys heroes flag holker street end
If RK doesn’t want the flag going up yet then fair enough for me, WE ALL WANT TO STAY UP so let’s not do anything to rock the boat, no matter how trivial, Just my opinion.
Have it ready for the game we mathematically secure our safety then toss it to the lads who will do a lap of celebration with it after the whistle goes, Scenes.

As Mike says really.
Rob just doesn't want any distractions and he's at the wheel. He does appreciate all the support mind.
And we can make it the absolute centrepiece of a celebration then. After the job is done.
Have a pleasant weekend all.

If Rob Kelly doesn’t think he and the players are worthy of such accolades just yet then so be it. It was just meant as a bit of a light hearted effort to show our support in difficult times when all said and done. But the serious stuff is staying up at the end of the day and RK’s philosophy of no distractions must get in the way shows to me just how focused Everyone is right now!

Re: Kellys heroes flag holker street end
Some people on this thread are hilarious.
1). It is a flag. Who cares?
2). It was a nice gesture, well-supported and well-intended. I applaud those who made the effort to sort this.
3). It is easy to snipe and be a [SwearFilter] behind a keyboard at the efforts of others. Those that do, rarely, get off their arse to make a difference or do anything constructive.
I don't quite get what RK's objection is (see point 1) but I am not the manager and what he says goes....I trust him to make the right choice and that.
The flag was a good idea, is still a good idea, and will be a good idea in a few weeks.

And on the 7th day god created football

It's the same as if we had a flag up last February saying "We are the Champions" - bit presumptuous and doesn't really do anything to help the cause.

Totally agree Gary. Let’s get over the line and then put the flag up to honour our heroes in the blue and white.Bigfathoss wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 10:00 am I agree about holding off with the flag. The pressure it puts on manager and team has greater potential to go wrong than it does to gee them up. We (mainly the fans) have addressed accusations of being a tin-pot club over the years, and the backlash, should the wheels fall off, would be thrown back in our faces. Make it a permanent fixture when we reach safety by all means...but let's get there first.
Re: Kellys heroes flag holker street end
If RK and the club would prefer not to have the flag on display yet, then we should accept that decision.
It was a means of showing our support for the team to keep going, as we cannot attend matches.

Put the flag up when we are mathematically safe
Re: Kellys heroes flag holker street end
In the aftermath of a 4-0 loss at Alfreton, Dave Bayliss decides that the group banner is causing too much of a distraction to the players. He tells club officials that he doesn't want to see it at future matches, and the officials politely request that the banner is not displayed while relegation is still a possibility. Word gets out to fans, and a majority agree with Bayliss.barrowaberdeen wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 11:44 am As Mike says really.
