Barrow v Aston Villa

I tried!
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
With 1200 season ticket holders it wouldn't take long for everyone else to miss out. One ticket for one ticket is fair. Anything else is using your season ticket or trust membership 'privilege' to buy 3 or 4 for non members.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 2:54 pmAre they? Would be daft if they do, there’s plenty of ticketsMethuselah wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 2:49 pm If you are a season ticket holder and a Bluebird Trust member can you buy two tickets as they are limiting season ticket holders to one ticket each?

Think the club is being very complacent thinking it will sell out in a very short time. Probably will, but need to get their collective finger out re sale of tickets if it is to happen.

Exactly where have you given this information?Methuselah wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 2:49 pm If you are a season ticket holder and a Bluebird Trust member can you buy two tickets as they are limiting season ticket holders to one ticket each?
Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
Season ticket holders should be able to replace their season ticket with another ticket. Anything else is rubbish. I've heard this been said a few times and I hope it is correctblue nige wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 7:05 pmExactly where have you given this information?Methuselah wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 2:49 pm If you are a season ticket holder and a Bluebird Trust member can you buy two tickets as they are limiting season ticket holders to one ticket each?

Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
The reason I asked the question about being a season ticket holder and also a Bluebird Trust member, would that give me the right to buy two tickets having got two separate memberships is because people are being advised to join the Bluebirds Trust as it will give them a right to a ticket for the Aston Villa game .I was already a Trust member and a season ticket holder before the statement was made.
Obviously when they go on general sale you will be able to buy however many you require as the nearer we get to the game the club will want to sell as many as they can.
I appreciate that the club is running with a very small number of staff ,but this is an occasion when the club should be able to make a lot of money and I don,t want to see it as an opportunity lost.
We have had 7000 fans who went to see us play Middlesborough and Sunderland in the past,so I can,t see how with the right promotion we shouldn,t be able to generate a lot of income for the club and pack Holker St out.We as a club should be selling those tickets as fast as we can.
Most people on this forum want the club to succeed and move onto even greater things and the person from 300 miles away was making suggestions don,t take offence,he was simply trying to be helpful.

Personally I don’t think it will be a sell out.

Hopefully the club shop will be open all day Saturday and Sunday for general ticket sales, and open later in an evening so everyone at work who needs to go to the shop to buy tickets has the chance.
It will be disappointing if it isn’t sold out but it’s a heck of a lot of tickets to shift in a few days

The speed at which the club is giving out details they clearly don’t want it to be……1 week to go and the silence is deafening. Unreal…..we should be absolutely creaming this opportunity with merchandise, tickets promotions, souvenir programmes etc etc instead we’ve had nowt. Again missed opportunity where we seem not ready for such a tie…..amateur school boy stuff again we look tin pot. EMPLOY MORE PEOPLE WE ARE NOT NON LEAGUE ANYMORE

Lots of complaints about the club and ticketing arrangements but could some Trust members not step forward to volunteer to assist with selling tickets. Indeed should the Trust not be seeking to help the club in this way? Isnt it supposed to be a partnership if you've got a share in the club? Retired members or maybe students on summer holidays might evable to help. It frustrates me immensely that some folk are always happy to moan but never step up to the plate and say 'what can I do to help ' ?

But that all costs money. Would you like to see the playing budget reduced to pay for more admin staff. ?mickycarrol wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 9:54 amThe speed at which the club is giving out details they clearly don’t want it to be……1 week to go and the silence is deafening. It would pay for itself if things are done properly.

Re: Barrow v Aston Villa
I suspect this is more a problem of capability than competence. The club is clearly in transition from one that does things on the hoof to one that can be proactive rather than reactive.
It has set its stall out (rightly) to move towards an electronic, information based approach to marketing and selling but its capability is very much in its infancy. Its not mainly about how many staff you employ - though this can subsequently become an issue. It about capturing intelligent data about your customers and having a set of rules regarding order, importance, priority and entitlement that can then be overlaid and linked to a sales and financial management function. If you've ever bought a ticket for a Premiership or Championship game that is what essentially is managing your ticket sale. Have that in place and match ticket sales can largely be managed without human intervention. The human factor then migrates to marketing (generating additional revenue) rather than managing sales.
Even I can see that the club has made big strides forward in the last couple of years but its got a fair way to go. Its a technological infant. Very important therefore that when it seeks commercial staff it builds this level of competency into role profiles. But it's still learning how to manage virtual ticketing techniques. So give it a break.

I'm sure if the club wanted support, if they asked a few local companies to help set up infrastructure etc ,they would help!not withstanding that couldn't we send someone to spend time at another league 1/2 club to get a heads up?
