1 full bus. Some exiles. Some carloads. Trains a pain. Some bad memories of the place and a lot have been.

180 Barrow.

Last time there, we were parking in the club car park, having watched us lose 0-7 at Field Mill the previous season after enjoying a good 2-2 draw the year before that (Jonah doing an excellent job in front of us on that occasion winding up Stags' defenders and 'keeper.). Some friendly locals called over that at least things wouldn't be as bad the last time around.

We lost 8-1.

Since then I have been unable to decide whether losing by a seven-goal margin but having scored is worse than a straight seven-goal defeat. It certainly didn't feel any better...

I think the 8-1 was worse. The goal only seemed to annoy them and surprise us.

Mansfield Town have been installed as 6/5 favourites for three points this weekend, with Barrow priced at 21/10 to come home with a win and the draw priced up at 9/4.

Those are very interesting odds for a team that hasn't won in 7 games playing a team who's last three outings away comprised a 3-0 win at Oldham, a 2-2 draw at Accrington and a 1-1 draw at Bradford City. Dare I suggest that the bookies may be suffering from a touch of "little Barrow" syndrome.

Not really a betting man but 9/4 for the draw looks to be a decent punt.

I remember that match. I went along with my sons and I had to persuade the security chaps that I was entitled to a pensioner entry (wouldn't have any trouble these days)

We were behind the goal where Barrow scored the equaliser. I seem to recall that Mansfield were an unpleasant, niggling, moaning team at that time and the fans were quite rabid and hostile too. It was therefore very satisfying to score the late equaliser to annoy them even more! I have a picture in my mind of a Sheridan free kick that either hit the bar or went in. Can anyone enlighten me on that?

EDIT: I now recall some aggro after our late equaliser and their keeper getting booked or sent off? Whatever, it was all very amusing and satisfying for us away fans!

Last weekend’s second half display was as good as anything we have seen from this side. If we can reproduce that display we can get the win. Lets not give Mansfield the opportunity to kick start their own season.

0-2 Zanzala and Gordon

Sheridan free kick hit the bar and Nick Rogan followed it up and headed the rebound in.
