I keep forecasting a Zanzala goal every week. I have got to be right eventually.bamber678 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 2:50 pmWith and luck zanzala isn’t in the squadJim wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 2:31 pm I am glad to see a post. I was beginning to think nobody was interested in tonight's match - no specualtion, score forecasts, preferred team selections etc! Anyway, I am looking forward to the game and think we have a chance. I think the first goal will be decisive, we need to make sure they don't score first. A mazy dribble from Zanzala and a cool finish may be all it takes.
Sb's suggestion of Brown marking this Chaplin fella sounds a bit scary though! Any bets on a red card?
As an incentive, the prospect of s 3rd round tie at Barnsley isn't the most exciting, I do think that if we can win tonight we may even have a chance to get to the 4th round for the first time in our history. I reckon Barnsley are there for the taking, as they say!![]()

If we put in the same sort of shift we did against Swindon then we’ve got a chance for sure.
Weather wise- fine and clear, so no excuses on the wind and rain front.
Hoping for an entertaining game.

Win tonight and it could mean we get a decent striker in in January with the money we get from a cup run.
Very important we win, play like last Saturday and we have a chance.

Think it will be close. Dependant on what McGreal does. I’ll go 2-1 Ipswich…but you will put on a good show. Also bear in mind we are shocking in front of TV cameras….

I think if you use my stat above: 3 wins on TV in 33 attempts any team would be disappointed to lose to a team with that record.Ipswichinpeace wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 4:38 pm Think it will be close. I'm hearing rumours that McGreal is going to sprinkle his starting 11 with U23s and save his boys for Sunderland. Woe betide him if he does that. Having watched Ipswich occasionally over the last few seasons you should also know that playing the likes of Kayden Jackson up front probably frightens Ipswich fans more than it does away supporters. As someone who has always had a soft spot for the Tractor Boys the general quality of your squad has been getting progressively mediocre year by year for a good decade. Saddens me to say it but Ipswich's current position is a true reflection of their current capabilities.
Play the best 11 and you'll probably win. Fiddle around like Cook in the first game and you may not.

Suffolk Blue, spot on. We aren’t entirely sure how McGreal will play it. That stat sickens me and every other Ipswich fan and yes, if he does put kids in there will be only one winner. Enjoy your Barnsley day out if that’s the case.
Our good days are well behind us, 80% of our fans know that. However there are several that still think Lampard or the like will be installed as manager. We are a L1 club presently and an L1 type of manager we will attract.
Just as a side note, I enjoy your forum and after tonight wish you all the very, very best. You have a super club and you all take huge pride in it.

Will it matter if the striker is cup-tied and can't be in the team for Barnsley and whoever we get in the 4th round?32mile_cul-de-sac wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 4:28 pm Win tonight and it could mean we get a decent striker in in January with the money we get from a cup run.

Ipswichinpeace the problem you guys have is you are falling from a decent height and that's hard on the supporters, we are stutteringly going in the other direction, so games like this we could only dream about until recently.Ipswichinpeace wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 5:49 pmSuffolk Blue wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 5:31 pm

Just seen the ITFC team sheet. Morsy, Chaplin and Piigott are all on the bench. Norwood and Kayden Jackson up front. So McGreal is hedging his bets and taking a risk hoping he doesn't have to play his trump cards.
He's taking a risk. Game On.
