Re: Carlisle
I'm sure there will be a big crowd in for this one, maybe the club was hoping most tickets would be snapped up by trust members season ticket holders. If they promote it too heavily now the worry will be carlise fans will buy tickets for the home end which then could lead to difficulties.

Re: Carlisle
I was gobsmacked when the Duke of Edinburgh barman asked me who was playing when we came down for the Walsall game two weeks ago. The Walsall fans in there turned out to be very well behaved and good to talk to, although the barman did say that the Tranmere fans from the recent home game who came in were, in his words, "a bunch of w******"!
I'm just perplexed given the proximity to the station they haven't been briefed as to a potential surge of punters after 12pm. And whether a bouncer or two might be required.
Having said that I reckon the season ticket holders that have purchased tickets for the away end will be absolutely fine as they normally are at Brunton Park. It will be the lads up for a "day out" on the train that might cause issues.

Re: Carlisle
Only 10 tickets left in the stand.
Should be a good day for food sales as well!

Re: Carlisle
I think if we are going to stand any chance of winning onSaturday, one player who will have to be closely marked is Omari Patrick as he is s bit of tallisman for Carlisle at the moment and will take any opportunity to score.I just hope we stay tight at the back and restrict their forwards while maybe springing a counter attack.I am hoping this time that our team manages to convert any crosses that come in.If they do there is no reason that we could not win this one, providing we do not switvh off at the back. Here,s hoping for a win in front of a big home crowd.

Re: Carlisle
I wasn't for one minute hinting at 'naughty things occuring between rival sets of fans'. I was merely suggesting that Carlisle fans just might be tempted to purchase tickets in the home sections of the ground. I believe everything I said was polite and in good faith, no need for you chaps to take it any other way.Sea Dog Sam wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 2:57 pmHe probably doesn't know what you mean by 'elucidate'Cubbins Paratrooper wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 2:28 pm
Carlisle could fill the ground - of course Carlisle could. Amazing what a few wins have done.
seems daft they they're only getting 650 tickets Ridiculous isn't it that some football grounds do not have the capacity to accommodate infinite numbers of supporters when the alleged demand is there.
Can't the segregation be sorted? - clearly not.
otherwise, you know what's going to happen. - elucidate, old bean.
seems silly really. - very silly.
Perhaps capacities and facilities at our respective grounds reflect where we have both been over the past fifty or sixty years. I remember Carlisle being in Division One and now they are in Division 4 (old money). Barrow AFC was playing in the NPL and it is not that long ago that the supporters had to raise money to help get the ground back following an (allegedly) unscrupulous land deal. We are also now back in the same league as Carlisle and investment has already been put into a ground that is our home though which most recognise has, because of its age, many challenges to address. Brunton Park has the odd one or two, lest we forget..![]()
Ask him to make things clear. But he probably won't.
He was probably hinting at naughty things occuring between rival sets of fans. He comes from Milnthorpe, bless him.
And similar to Carlisle, the Neanderthal mentality thrives up there![]()

Of course Barrows not easy to get to but, Carlisel is not an easy journey either for most clubs in the midlands and beyond, they dread that journey to the scottish border
