I stopped watching the Cooper interviews long ago as it’s bad enough watching what he serves up without listening to his excuses fir it but I needed to hear what he had to say this time.

“I told them to run about” WTF sort of tactic is that?

“that wasn’t the game plan” YOU are the manager, it’s YOUR job (one you are being very well paid for) to sort it out.

“Wakeling is the most natural finisher in the squad” well in a squad of players who can’t score he doesn’t have a lot to beat does he?

His interviews are embarrassing, he actually is now looking like he doesn’t care because he knows if he gets sacked he’ll walk away with a bulging wallet and straight into another L2 job.

INTERVIEWER: You obviously wracked your brains at half time, tweaked and fine tuned the team.

In hindsight giving the lads the week off after Tuesday and only training Friday before the biggest game of the season wasn’t the correct thing to do!!

I agree we are professional club and to play that game Tuesday night and then not meet or even train till a little jog up holker on the Friday afternoon in the position we are in is a shambles!

Some of you lot are deluded.
Players, just like managers, don't just turn shit overnight. The reason for a lot of the things you guys are picking up is totally down to a lack of confidence which comes from not having results go our way this season and then panicking, not wanting to be the one who makes a mistake and looking over our shoulder. I have seen the same with my daughters under 14 team for goodness sake.
Mark Cooper has a proven track record and we know what the likes of Platt, Rooney, Brough etc are capable of.
We know we can't hit a cows arse with a banjo up front but the players need supporting not bloody lynching for every single little mistake.

Assuming we stay up (which I think we will) I think you will see a lot if dead wood out of the door and a focus on obtaining a potent strike force. With some confidence and a couple of strikers I really don't think we are a million miles off a decent team.

If that's true it's scandalous and proves that the football side of things is a joke !
People still saying Cooper's a good manager well apart from the fact he's managed Swindon and forest Green ( both with large budgets) and is now here speaks volumes of the guy he must of known of the complications of being an EFL club situated where we are and still trying to get our infrastructure right ( hope all this effort isn't for nothing) but what does he do throws the board under the bus ( by letting the media know), then it's the player's fault , then certain player's get targeted!
Then there's the tactics at home WHY hasn't the penny dropped it's not working? but it's as you were! but wait he had the chance in January to change things but the fundamental part of getting a couple of decent forwards somehow evaded him ,we should have thrown everything at this ( our achilles heal ) but we didn't!
So here we are will we stay up toss a coin because I just don't know.
The player's should have been chomping at the bit to be on the pitch yesterday but it was like a practise match ( this has to be down to him ), Carlisle weren't brilliant BUT they played with passion and all of them put a shift in and all supported each other, covering and helping each other out Yet we have Stevens one of the most talented player's sat on a bench it's criminal but hey Cooper's a good manager hmmm

We are 6 points above the drop zone and we need stability now with Cooper to get the points needed and get this season done. The running about bit has been taken right out of context- he was clearly questioning the passion and commitment needed where that should be an absolute minimum in any game. From the first minute we didn’t hit them with any hard tackles, we didn’t win enough 50/50 balls or second balls and a lack of aggression in the challenges- it was all on show and that’s why we didn’t put Carlisle under any real pressure. I’m not sticking up for Cooper here but that has got to come from the players themselves. That first half display didn’t do enough to get any foothold in the game.

Inspirational team talks? They shouldn’t be needed and thats not the point I’m making. When the training and the game prep ends the responsibility shifts to the players.

Or perhaps it's "Run about a bit and I'll give you next week off".

Ok Carlisle fan here,
Not about to brag, just a few observations.
Thought we were slightly better, and probably just about deserved the points, but it has to be said both teams were poor unfortunately for you lot Barrow looked exceptionally 'poor'.
I always thought Pat Brough was a decent player even when he was at CUFC (despite his limited opportunities), looked a shadow of the player he can be. The little fella up front was getting absolutely no joy out of our back line and was crying out for some big physical support. Farman seemed to make an absolute hash of our second goal. All in all your team seemed to lack leadership and aggression.
Cooper's interview after the match was absolutely bizarre, (great to listen to Radio Cumbria after coming back from an away match!!) he seem to blame everyone else bar himself, talked about going to 'run around' the pitch, and, did I hear it right? there was no real 'game plan', absolutely unreal!!!!!!!
On another point the away section is a complete disgrace, we were standing behind the goal next to some DIY plastic sheeting, which obscured a third of the pitch, at the very least you expect to see 95% of it.
Anyway onwards and upwards for the mighty Blues, and not trying to take the Mick, I honestly hope you stay up and Stevenage go down with Scunny.

I'm no longer that confidence we will stop up, which is such a shame. After years of people saying we would end up with the lowest crowds in the league the people of Barrow have turned out in force despite the fact we are very poor.

We have real potential to build something here and it's a real shame if we were to go down. We are supposed to have a top 7 budget and the so called best manager in the league.

Still time to pull it around and just hope that Oldham and stevenage don't start picking up again.
