A few questions?

1: Have you seen his bank account, how do you know he is 'poor'?
2: Isn't everybody (most people) who takes a new job an opportunist, I mean most jobs have generally become available because another person has left. Added with the fact he was probably contacted rather than him apply for it, given the short turnaround.
3: Are you new to football? Show me a manager or player who has not at some time spoken a 'soundbite' and you will be showing me a manager or player that has never spoken to the media.

You are right though, we should be watching this space. As in what happens on the pitch, this is the only thing that matters at this time. Not how much money is in the managers bank account or what words he uses in front of the media.

If you can't warm to him, that is fine but I think your reasoning is a bit out there.

Maybe because he is based in the North and that puts him in the Outer Mongolia territory to southerners.

He got Hull into the Premiership for the first time in their 104 year history.
He took Southend up from L1 to L2 the first time he was there. Granted it was a while ago but you don't do that without having some knowledge and skills.
A dinosaur. Well the basics of football are still the same. Get the ball in the net.
I hope he can motivate the players and get them to believe in themselves. Positivity and the crowd behind them can surely lift their confidence and see us into L2 next season.

Great to hear Nige. Yes he’s scored some good goals which could turn out to be important ones. I think he will be back to his usual self next season once he gets somebody to play into.

But for example he mentioned about viewing possible training grounds in Barrow yet for 2 years we’ve heard there aren’t football league standard training facilities in Barrow, so what’s changed? It sounds good but in reality…….

Phil Brown first week at Barrow is handing out Mrs Day Flowers to Barrow Fans, visiting possible future training venues around the town. What the hell is going on??????
It is as if we have an older version of Ian Evatt wanting to engage with the town.
The previous manager did not do anything like this in all the time he was here.
Talk about trying to cook up the perfect storm again.
I for one love it. If anything we have all got to give this guy all our support and see what he can do.
It may all be a PR stunt but by god we as fans have needed a manager that shows he is interested in us and the town.

Phil Brown is an enthusiast, a hugger, a guy that will take an interest in you. He will be supportive and try to inspire you. He will invoke the spirit of your favorite auntie if it gets the best out you. Personality wise he is everything that Cooper is not. Irrespective of however decent a footballing brain he has, he should be able to unlock any self doubt, depression or angst that the squad have either as individuals or as a collective. Neil Macdonald will probably be the "go to" for the detail. Brown = Macro; Macdonald = Micro.

The combination has a good chance of having a positive effect on this squad for at least the next 9 games. And I'm betting that was also the conclusion that the BoD came to. Hope they got that one right at least.

Just watched the TikTok video from a link on the Barrow AFC Twitter page. A bit of a PR stunt, but at the same time it made a good impression of a person who cares about the club and the wider town that the club represents. Hope he does a good job with these 9 games and at the end of the season we are wanting him to stay. Can't help but like him, seems like a genuine man.

And no doubt Phil Brown will want Barrow to win their games whereas Cooper (for his own reasons) wanted Barrow to lose. A ruthless mercenary and enemy within.

We have good players, there are no outstanding clubs in the league, I don't mind losing as long as we have a go.

I'm sure Barrow would have plenty of possible training venues, maybe the club are looking to the future. Seems like a decent bloke and maybe a good safe pair of hands
