Don't apologise for not having formal qualifications Adam, they obviously aren't always needed when you have as much passion for what you do as you clearly do.
You might not be everyones cup of tea but so what?....its impossible to please everyone so don't even try.
Just keep on doing what your doing, you and Goody make a good team, let any criticism wash over you, it's just one persons opinion, and carry on enjoying the roller-coaster rhat is BAFC🙂

I’d just like to say thank you to everyone who has got involved with our shows this season

We have 3 games left of course so I hope the texts and tweets continue.

I know I’m probably not everyone’s cup of tea
Yes I have zero media qualifications, never went to college never went to uni, one thing I can give everyone is the fact that this football club means the world to me. Before I moved into the press box I was on those terraces and there’s times that I wish I was still there.
This football club means everything to me.

I look forward to continuing in the role next season so let’s enjoy the final 3 games and well look forward to what the future brings

WE ARE FOOTBALL LEAGUE!!!!
"never went to college never went to uni,".
That means nothing, absolutely nothing Adam. For example-John Sullivan who wrote one of the best comedies ever (fools and horses) never went to college, he learnt his trade by getting in amongst what goes on in real life, if you see what I mean.
I could tell you were a man of dedication from when we used to have our conversations in the Wheatsheaf days.
Well done and keep it going.

Thanks Adam and goody and others for the fantastic coverage over the season. Thanks Adam for the odd message of reassurance when I've been getting stressed about our league position.

Having formal qualifications does not make you a sports journalist doing the job does so you are every bit a professional sports journalist.

As an ex-pat Adam listening to you and Goody helps keep us connected with the club and the town. In good times and bad you seem to be able to remain enthusiastic whilst retaining a level of objectivity that I can only dream of on game days.

Hopefully you’ll now be able to give your blood pressure a rest for a bit.

Adam, don't knock yourself. You do a brilliant job and the passion you convey is massively important. If you are lacking the technical qualifications that you mention (not that I am conscious of that for one moment whenever I hear a commentary by you) then maybe you are more Dolly Parton than Whitney Houston as you put the emotion and the "feelingfulness" across even if, as you say, you don't tick every technical box. You don't need to change a thing in the way you deliver. It's probably not every day you get called a Dolly Parton but take it as a compliment and keep the emotion flowing in your commentaries!

You don’t need qualifications, you need a voice, knowledge of what your commentating on and a platform to do it. You have those and you do it very well. It only takes for you to be heard and you could do this job at a higher level, a bigger audience. Think you and Goody work well together and I’d much rather listen to the two of you than you and an ex player etc.

As for Radio Cumbria, people moan for moaning a sake. I think we get good coverage, probably not as much as Carlisle, but we should be thankful for what we get, it could be a lot worse.

Keep enjoying what you do

Dolley Parton is famous, has a great voice and is (still at her age) a sex symbol amongst country music fans.... and she'll probably remembered long after Whitney Houston..... so i'd say that is a compliment..

Adam we are lead to believe that qualifications are the be all and end all.
How many people do we know who have a degree and no common sense?
We actually have someone from Eton mishandling the country that does not realise he has been to a party but then wants another investigation to confirm it.

Adam, I think we should all say a big thank you to you…last season throughout lockdown etc your match coverage on I follow was fantastic, helping a lot of us through it. This season especially, your enthusiasm, knowledge and a fair bit of reality has certainly been a massive help in what has been a torrid campaign. So once again. Well Done..

Like the vast majority of supporters if I can't make the game for whatever reason I look forward to Adam and Goody's excellent coverage. Enough said.

Mate the only fault I can find is it sometimes comes across when you post on here that you're fishing for compliments - there's no need - just enjoy the ride like we all are. Up the Bluebirds and praise the board for getting us into the promised land. :scarf:

You are both taking this thread off its subject.

Thank you.
