That Kemy Augustine goal takes some beating, as does the Andy Cook one.

Kenny Lowe's against Colne was a bit special but I think Micky Carroll's against Enfield (was it?) possibly the best strike I've seen at Holker Street. Like an exocet missile!

Remember going to Bury at start of 1967 season. Bury,s keeper hit the ball upfield and Jimmy Mallon hit it straight back from around the half way line. Their keeper back peddled and manage to get a hand to it. It hit the bar, came back hit him and went in. We won 2-1 I think. Great start to the season.

I was at that game. First game of the season after our promotion and Bury newly relegated. I can still see the Bury keeper, Neil Ramsbottom, back-peddling and pushing it into the net.

I think it was a Jim Mulholland penalty that won the game.

Surprised there has been no mention of two local record-breakers (at the time). Cowps legendary opener at Kettering in 4 seconds and Graham Capsticks' 52 yard header for Holker some years later.

Can't believe we've got this far into the thread without God's fastest goal ever (at the time), beating the keeper after receiving the ball from kick-off at Kettering in 1979, having been mentioned.
