You can pick up a lot of useful information from other clubs forums if you are prepared to sift out the bile and the bigotry. I’ve heard the same thing said about our forum on many occasions.Moonie wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 7:53 amThat’s a pretty insular attitudeDesmond2-2 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 11:18 pm You know, it often concerns me when another team’s supporters, repeatedly post on this, Barrow AFCs forum, I don’t even visit other teams forums, [SwearFilter] weirdo’s if you ask me.
As a league club, we’ve had plenty of banter with other fans over the years, personally I think it’s a good thing.l so long as it stays civil. Our old footymad forum (before it was ruined by adverts) was frequented by all kinds of weird and wonderful specimens from across the leagues.
We’re all football fans, our clubs are playing at the same level, and we have a game coming up. Why wouldn’t we be interested in how the other side is looking at it?
Whatever the obvious bias you find in a particular forum I tend to find that in general the bulk of forum members whoever they support tend to have a good feel for the current state of their club. More so sometimes than the club officials do themselves or are prepared to admit.
