Why would gates plummet? Forest Green’s average attendance has gone up despite them being relegated.
I swear people on this forum just regurgitate cliches based on nothing factual.
Three of the four clubs promoted have all held their own in league one this season.
Because unlike you I know how people react around here and they won't pay good money to watch a losing team plus people won't take holidays etc when they're on shifts etc !
You're point about holding their own is fine but if you can't realise we're still learning creating a decent infrastructure etc then you've got a lot to learn!

It blows my mind that people genuinely think the board are ringing Pete Wild and telling him to make sure we don’t win games
I’m not really surprised that they are on the phone to Pete Wild. After all, according to this forum, if we go up we are going bust in front of no fans with a gravitational vortex taking us to the lower reaches of conference north. And that’s just in September

We will need to take stock in the summer. As far as I know McClelland and Harrison are off, Brough rumoured to be away and Gordon will have attracted a lot of attention also. So another season of consolidation would do me; get the squad right, get their contracts right and see what we can achieve. What times to be a Barrow supporter!
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

And which were those 3?: Bristol Rovers, Exeter City and Port Vale all of whom have been around the leagues consistently for a long time (yes, I know Rovers spent one season in the Conference 10 years ago) with well-developed grounds, infrastructure and larger catchments. The one club that doesn't match all those criteria is FGR and they are languishing at the bottom with a -51 goal difference. OK, we're not a village team but we've been out of the league for 48 years - we need to catch up. I want to see success as much as anyone but, for me, it's 'steady as she goes'. I don't think for a moment the board are asking PW to drop points but he's acknowledged he's playing around with systems with a view to next season. 9th this season? Thank you very much, I'll take that.
Don't let the old man in.

Something I had wondered about was whether finishing in a higher position would give us a higher end of season payout, regardless of playoffs, automatic promotion, etc. This, in itself, would be a reason for aiming for a higher position. Having Googled it, we will get the same payment whether we finish 1st or 24th. You get nothing extra for finishing as Champions, other than the trophy, kudos, and (of course) a place in EFL1.

Did I say that? No

My point is and just to be clear, we have had an amazing season and to be where we are is nothing short of remarkable but we are also in a place where we now have nothing to loose but a glimmer of something to play for! FFS, if Swindon were in our place there fans wouldn't be poo pooing the potential, they would be all over it and be pushing their club along.

That clear now?

Of course Swindon fans would. The infrastructure at Swindon is years ahead of us. They have a ground that’s Championship standard where as ours won’t even be fully EFL 2 complient until next season

You don’t know anything of the sort. Stop trying to pass your opinion off as fact. You’re just putting your own negative slant on things.
Of course I realise we are learning. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t shoot for the moon and look at promotion as anything other than a positive.
I certainly won’t be cheering Grimsby on on Tuesday evening so we don’t go up.

Morecambe, Accrington haven’t fared too badly after competing in league one after years in the non league pyramid.
Forest Green may be bottom of league one but they’ve had decent crowds and are back to playing in the same league as us. Is that so bad for them?
I’ll take 9th as a splendid achievement as well but I’d rather we went for play offs full throttle. We should still get at least 9th anyway.

Nice of you lot to have a bit chat about about the 'super Blues' before our big encounter next week.
For once I have to agree with some of your posters, and it's looking increasingly unlikely we'll go straight up. We're bang out of form, we haven't scored a goal in 6 of our last 7 matches, and judging by yesterday and at Walsall, its hard to see where the goals are going to come from.
Also a tough run in, Stockport at home who are just above us on Tuesday night, you lot at Holker Street on Saturday, and I know you are just thirsting for revenge after the mauling at Mecca, Salford at home (who are still in the promotion hunt) and the last game at Sutton.
Also just below us Bradford and Masfield (who both have a game in hand) and who both seem to have hit form at the right time, so all in all its not looking too bright.
'If', and its a BIG 'if' we do get promotion, then we will have to seriously strengthen the squad...........do we have the money??????????? answers on a back of a fag packet please!

Accrington have been playing in the EFL since 2006 and Morecambe 2007 hardly just joined the league so how can you possibly align those comments against our present position oh and don't forget we came back into the league during Covid without any income ( apart from 3 home games!).

Watching the fans forum at Carlisle last Thursday night on YouTube Simpson apart the board at Carlisle are hardly an inspiring bunch. When one board member was spouting off the look from Simpson was akin from one who was thinking. "what an earth are you on about"

Driving down Wilkie Road looking at the back of the main stand you'd think BAFC were still in the Northern Premier league

Well, why don't yo get your money out of the bank and build us a full length cantilever stand along Wilkie Road.
