Re: Expansion
Were they not filled in years ago on the left-hand side, and then removed because spectators complained they couldn't see some areas of the pitch?saltcellar wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 6:46 pmThe ends of the Brian Arrowsmith stand have never been filled in.32mile_cul-de-sac wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 2:06 pm needs the end filling in with something to protect the fans from the elements come winter.

Re: Expansion
That's interesting Ian just hope that if we get high winds, it doesn't affect the other stand because they'll have calculated on the new stand but hopefully looked at the impact( if any)On the Brian Arrowsmith Stand , an example of this was when the DDH was first built part created a wind tunnel and people were getting blown over !
Re: Expansion
Kudos to the brave souls who take up the the first columns of seats in the new West stand. Acting as the wind break for the rest of the stand.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.
Re: Expansion
The stands are already looking a massive improvement on the ground. Let's hope the increased capacity and away followings are a step in the right direction in making us more self sustainable. I'm guessing all the away fans will be all seated so should command the higher entrance fee. Standing areas to be opened up for the bigger teams with larger followings
Re: Expansion
Just take some of that shitty plastic sheeting out of the away end, anyway now that the mighty Blues have gone up, you'll never sell it out in a Month of Sundays.32mile_cul-de-sac wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 2:06 pm needs the end filling in with something to protect the fans from the elements come winter.

Unless we pass them en-route ! Had to smile at Simmo on RC this morning. Had a player in yesterday-medical passed, squad number given, deal done until a phone call from his agent to say he'd had a better offer from a Club nearer home. Shame

At least our away end is in the same country as the pitch. Small mercies I suppose.bluedevil wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 10:58 pmJust take some of that shitty plastic sheeting out of the away end, anyway now that the mighty Blues have gone up, you'll never sell it out in a Month of Sundays.32mile_cul-de-sac wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 2:06 pm needs the end filling in with something to protect the fans from the elements come winter.

Re: Expansion
The roof on the new "home" section is quite a bit lower than the new away stand which will reduce any impact on the view.

Re: Expansion
Just to inform everyone, especially the exiles, that I will not be posting anymore photos of the new stand being erected, as I have been warned off by someone on here. Sorry guys. My season ticket will be getting cancelled forthwith.
