My first home game since they’ve gone up…..huge improvement on the ground having the gaps filled in either side of the main stand. Well done and thank you to those who made it possible.

It is a bit concerning that these 'issues' are coming to light at this close stage, IMHO.
Popular side since '03.

Have we [SwearFilter] someone off on the council at some point? Completely see folks points about how late we’ve left it etc but also seems like the council are deliberately being obstructive, a 1000 parking spaces is completely ridiculous; supposed to be encouraging folk not to drive these days

Sorry if I've missed it.
But who has actually said anything about the parking being the stumbling block?

The only point I raised was that i'd seen latest responses on our application documentation, from Highways (parking issues) & LLFA (Lead Local Flood Authority - drainage) - dated 19/07/2023 - that are still recommending refusal.
Don't know if the council will agree with these proposals - hopefully not.

It's not the 'council' planning, it's the Highways.

And as someone pointed out, do Luton have 1000 parking spaces?

Absolute nonsense

2 fields in dalton are getting filled with houses next to a narrow busy road, one junction which is notorious for crashes, which the highway had pointed out in the past (one of the comments on pollution apparently the hedges can help absorb) council still approved it, so I guess it’s back with the council

Aye Rich, I get that but you know what I mean...its not the planning which everyone keeps saying we put in too late etc.

This is down to some obsessed functionary in Workington or Carlisle. They don't even give a contact name! And as for discerning who is in charge of what at present...

It will most likely be someone from the newly formed Westmorland and Furness side that wasn’t included in the chain from the onset who’s only knowledge of Barrow is via google maps but trying now to justify their pointless existence.

Exactly.
No affinity with this area whatsoever. Now, if we were in west Cumbria.......

It will get resolved, as I said previous a good lawyer would take our council planners to the cleaners over this ,if it gets to an appeal 💯 we'd win it !

Will be interesting to see if this this newly formed W&F council are prepared to help or hinder the club.
I've a feeling that if the club appealed to Barrow town hall-they would either be powerless or refer the club to the powers that be further up the coast.

Sutton won't bring many, it's the Wrexham then Morecambe games it needs sorting for... otherwise massive missed revenue especially when we are away so much at the start of the season
How many tickets have been supplied to Sutton, Wrexham and Morecambe? And without new stands being occupied whats the capacity?
