Regarding the replay,
Surely the rescheduling of the Morecambe match should be between Barrow AFC and the FA,because as has already been said Barrow were only instructed of the cancellation.
I would like to suggest that an extra Saturday match should be added onto the end of the season.At least the weather would be better than a wet and windy Tuesday night and there would be a bigger crowd at Holker St.

If we were to have three or more of the first team squad missing then we would also be asking for the deferral to a later date. Age of players is irrelevant.

As for the extra Saturday suggestion, it would have to be mandated for all teams, with consequential in-season postponements to ensure the integrity of the final day's fixtures.

Just read Morecambes twitter account and there's 3 player's one for Wales ( they don't play till 12th September!),Grenada and Northern Ireland and one on standby for England under 20's!

Would have thought Tuesday 26th September would be when it gets replayed both sides with no fixture that evening but an advantage to Barrow as they will have to go sat,tues,sat then to Holker street on that Tues having played a number of games close together with a small squad

That's totally messed up next weekend for me was going to bring my 3 grandkids up to see the game. If what is said is true above then Morecambe are really taking the proverbial.

Thank god I'd not bought the match tickets or booked accommodation anywhere in the area.

Barrow will make a loss now as a local derby on a weekend has been postponed for some wet Tuesday evening I can't and some others won't be able to make it up for. Won't see Barrow at home, for me, till late October now. Great.

Well, apparently they are entitled to do so but I can't help but think that if the boot was on the other foot !!!

It is ridiculous that clubs can cancel an away game in such circumstances. The solution is simple. If before the fixtures come out and a L2 club thinks they may have players (current or through recruitment) who might be called up for international duty they should request a home game on international weekends.Cancelling away games should not be an option.( If more than 12 requests are made the clubs with a history of providing international players would take precedence.) Barrow will lose thousands due to this cancellation not to mention the financial loss and inconvenience to hundreds of Barrow supporters who have made long standing plans to attend.If Morecambe had been at home and faced a huge financial loss from postponing the fixture would they have cancelled the game or played on without a quartet of 20 year olds? I think the game would have gone ahead. Morecambe have nothing to lose by cancelling an away fixture.

It’s the shortness of the notice given that sticks in the craw the most. A month is adequate unless it’s late call up due to injuries and that shouldn’t affect the games going ahead at all. It wouldn’t make any difference to my predicament. But seems a fairer way for all.

Not at League Two level, but Morecambe have done this a number of times over the last couple of years. As far as I can tell one of the players called up hasn’t even played for them this season and another was signed yesterday. Seems a bit cheeky.

No they haven’t what? I can see at least four games from 21/22 season that were postponed because of Morecambe call-ups.
