Bit harsh, Adam was only pointing out the facts.

A polite correction to inaccurate information - nothing wrong with that. No need to shoot the messenger bud.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

The point is it isn't always the managers fault.blue nige wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 5:33 pmReally Aqua/ Farman were picked by clemence !, until cameron got injured we were all over the show so I don’t get this post !?farington blue wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 5:28 pm Three factors in yesterdays defeat which were beyond SC's control:
Cameron injury after thirty minutes of his debut
Acquahs inability to hold up the ball and bring others into the game
Farmans inability to command his six yard box, as usual
One plus was Fletcher. He looks a player
Acquahs and Farman weren't brought in by SC and you can't judge Cameron on thirty minutes.

I'm not judging Cameron he was thrown in and they ( the back 3 hadn't played together) so down to Clemence!
You've tried to dodge my point yes Clemence didn't sign them BUT he picked them!

Most supporters on here have them two as the best available in there position.
They're just not good enough.

Re: Barrow v Harrogate Town, match thread
Quite correct Adam. That was the Salford game. Heavens above, didn't take it personally, not at all. I should get the facts right.
So THIS is the CORRECTED error by Farman on New Years Day game v Bradford when he gently palmed the ball away into the path of No. 12 for him to score the equalizer for them.
Farman's error v Salford on Boxing day was a 'bonus' error (didn't affect the result of the game).
So your correction shows that Farman actually made 4 crucial mistakes in the last 4 games since Christmas, each of which led to a goal.
No one's prefect (sic) but at least our #1 goalie is consistent......
Re: Barrow v Harrogate Town, match thread
Either way, I just don’t know what it’s gonna take to sack Clemence and try something new. I look at our next four games against Port Vale, Swindon, Grimsby and Newport and feel like I could optimistically see us getting 4 points. In reality, I feel like we’ll be lucky to get 2.

I’ve always defended Farman on here but Stanway definitely deserves a go for a few games

Re: Barrow v Harrogate Town, match thread
Even when making the odd mistake, Farman has played well for us until his injury at Chelsea but he hasn't been the same player since his return and has made a lot more mistakes since then. Stanway started his Barrow career with a few mistakes but improved with every match and IMO is worth a chance unless Farman improves. I agree with those who said he deals better than Farman with crosses.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:00 pm I’ve always defended Farman on here but Stanway definitely deserves a go for a few games

New Years Day v Bradford. He allowed a 30-yard free kick from No. 29 in the 86th minute to drift into the goal, when he had plenty of time to judge its trajectory, yet he remained fixed on his line with his feet seemingly cemented in concrete. Ball - see X. We were winning 2-1 at the time. Result 2-2. 2 points given away.
FARMAN 2.png
Dec. 29 v Tranmere. He gave away a blatant and unnecessary penalty. Ball - see X. We were winning 1-0 at the time. Result 1-1. 2 points given away.

Yes, its quite clear we're not scoring enough goals but in these 2 games we were AHEAD until Farman screwed-up and he is solely responsible for 3 goals allowed in the last 3 games. He should be dropped as Stanway does make the effort to catch high balls in the 6-yard and 18-yard box and doesn't give away stupid penalties.
PS: If Stanway is selected I might be tempted to forgo my F&C with hot curry sauce for an admission ticket.
I think the Tranmere one is harsh on Farman Stokes makes a right hash of heading it back.

Played the game to a decent level and then you suggest Goodwin
Hetherington sold his shares we need people with serious money not more people that as Charles puts it are enthusiastic amateurs.

Mark left for a reason just wish I could inform everyone why then you might have a different view instead of blue tinted ones!barrowfan_chris wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 8:28 amblue nige wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 10:27 am On the board we need someone who's played the game to a decent level who at least can have some involvement in footballing decisions, we had Mark Hetherington but he left for reasons ( which I know but can't for obvious reasons share on here) John Goodwin would be a good choice infact I'd love both Mark and Goody join because I think our present board are giving too much power to Wood which is dangerous because if it's solely down to him and he gets it wrong!!!!!!

As for John Goodwin think you're being a bit ingenious, I didn't EVER notice you criticising him when he was co commentating with Adam, let's then put it another way Clemence played at a high level and has NO tactical nouse that's just not my view but most people I talk to we all can't be wrong!
I want Barrow to survive but my concerns are valid but without people like John/ Mark I feel that the footballing conversations on the board are only one person's view which if right is a recipe for disaster!
