You must be referring to United Carlisle. They’ve been going backwards for a couple of years.

Why not try to cash in a bit with 30’000 visitors to the town?
Obviously I’m not there so don’t know the full details but it seems accommodation was scarce so why not open up the facilities to house those in need? Takes organising but anything’s possible if their a will & seeing how we hosted the game on Sunday we already have a solid connection with Dave’s Day, they could pitch tents in the fan zone & under the pop side roof for a reasonable amount & have a overnight guard to assist or answer questions & importantly keep people off the pitch & we sell them breakfasts etc
Look at it as assisting with Dave’s Day not milking them.
Sales often are based on emotion & the Riders emotion was sky high with the fantastic Barrovian welcome received so when they finish at the Town Hall then ride up to Holker St to set up for the night we could sell food n drinks & Hawaiian style shirts then they head into town…Hust an idea.

The rugby sold out of pitches at Craven Park all pitched on the playing surface. The location of Craven Park lent itself to being a popular place to stay as it was within walking distance for most of the events over the two days plus they had entertainment in the marquee. Im not sure Holker street would have the same pull as Craven Park given its location. Furness Cricket club, Hawcoat Park and Roose Cons all had tents pitched up on land surrounding the venues and had evening entertainment on for those stopping over to enjoy.
