I am surprised so many people don't know the laws on dismissals, its quite simple, if your carded in the league you cannot play for the number of games issued to you for the league but you can play in cup games etc and other competitions outside the league as it is 3 games in the case of Whitfield he will miss Saturdays game against Crewe.

That wasn't the question, the question which the OP answered for themselves was why wasn't he cup-tied.JayBee wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 2:10 pmI am surprised so many people don't know the laws on dismissals, its quite simple, if your carded in the league you cannot play for the number of games issued to you for the league but you can play in cup games etc and other competitions outside the league as it is 3 games in the case of Whitfield he will miss Saturdays game against Crewe.

I wonder if Ian Evatt would come back we desperately need some one who knows this league, Deli Alli is looking for a club why not approach him, you just never know miracles happen.

The EFL Cup is a completely different competition to the EFL TrophyStephenD wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 2:16 pmThat wasn't the question, the question which the OP answered for themselves was why wasn't he cup-tied.JayBee wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 2:10 pm

The EFL Cup is the League Cup (Carabao if you wish to use sponsor names) which we reached the 3rd round of last season at Chelsea
The EFL Trophy (or Virtu Trophy) is the one we played in last night so therefore not cup tied and was available

Agreed, thought they were brilliant. Deserved their 10 seconds of live streaming fame. Warmed my heart to hear their loud and constant backing.

I take offence! even we're not that daft and I've said some stupid stuff!April1972 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 11:47 am Just listened to Whing’s post match interview.
Without naming any names he’s thrown a load of players under the bus there. Saying most of the players on the pitch at the end aren’t good enough and the few that are aren’t trying hard enough. Players hiding and not taking any responsibility.
Thats forum kind of stuff and is probably true but to hear that from a manager that has to work with them and get the best out of them is incredibly surprising and personally I can’t see a way back from this. Most of those players have been signed by Whing/Wood in the Summer and are contracted to the club and at this rate they will be here long after Whing has gone.

Bring back Colin Cowperhwaite. As old as he is he could probably play better than some of these we currently have.
Re: Blackpool (A)
Bring back Vinny Mukendi
Re: Blackpool (A)
Just listened to the post match interview on BBCRC. He’s really hammered in to the players and pulled no punches and he’s at the end of his patience. Hes tried to give them as much praise after defeats but this one was hard to take, all that prep out the window.
We have conceded 10 goals and scored 2 in the last three games, so problems at both ends. There’s no quick fix here. Getting rid of Whing will be costly and won’t fix the issues with the squad.
We need to try and steady the ship, try and get a bit of breathing space above the bottom two and get to the January window. Players he thinks aren’t up to it are done now at Barrow.
I really hope the fans can lift the players on Saturday, we need it.
