If only the players and manager were as passionate as the fans.. we would be in the premier league by now...

if you think you are passionate just because you come on a forum and whinge when things are going wrong, then I would have another look at the definition of the word passionate.
Home games generally the fans are quiet and can’t really be described as passionate. Away from home, somewhat better but you’ve got to be slightly delusional to describe Barrow fans at the moment as passionate.
The football on offer over the last four years has helped to kill any passion. Barrow haven’t served up any regular excitement/entertainment on the pitch since the crowds came back since Covid.
Cooper - Wild - Clemence - and Whing have all put out teams that are as dull as dishwater. And Phil Beown was no better.

Agree, but with Wild, at least he came with a three year plan and what’s more he believed in “the process” as he called it and fans were on board with it. We fell short but I felt we were getting there. Whing bringing in McDonald doesn't seem to have done much as of yet, albeit early doors. I watched a very interesting recent interview with David Dunn, who was reflecting on his career and also his time here and in his words his downfall “we were drawing too many games” , “The board wanted me to play a certain way and pick up from the previous Manager (who was Evatt)”…. whats happened to that footballing philosophy now.. That’s well gone and Im not sure we know what our footballing identity is supposed to be.

That is quite true. I think as fans no one expected Evatt-ball to last forever, who knows how we’d have performed under Evatt in L2, which is a whole new ball game. Even at the highest level, the game has evolved, set pieces, long throws, diagonal passes over midfield, have started to take over playing it square out from the back.

Was he at the club? I bet he was whispering in ears. I'm one of the ones that think Wood is poison. I don't care if he helped out with getting the underneath of the stand sorted out.
I also don't care if Whing is a nice guy or not. It's not the criteria necessary for a successful manager. It's a nice-to-have.
I'd have mucho respect if the owners just said 'we should have backed Pete Wild'. Admitting a mistake is step one.

Neil McDonald to take over as caretaker ?

If we’re honest Whing should’ve gone two months ago and only a few spirited draws and a couple of hard fought wins with a bit of input from Rob Kelly saved him. I honestly thought he’d be gone then.

What’s more worrying for me with Whing is there’s no plan on what he’s going to do to change things, change of shape or anything else and you have to assume he’s just out of ideas and doesn’t know how to. Working their socks off and looking good in training hasn’t worked for 4 months and I have no confidence in him being able to rectify it now as that’s his only answer to every interview. I feel for him he’s giving his all but he’s clearly out of his depth and whilst I don’t think there’s a lack of effort from the players, there’s a real lack of guidance and leadership and as others have said, too many square pegs in round holes.

I would hope a change is made as soon as possible to allow someone else time to sort out who and what they want for January.

I have no idea only the parties involved know what went on and that’s subject to an NDA. All I will say is judging by what Wild said on Fleetwood tv before they played us at Holker street he is still very very bitter about the way it all ended stating that he would have had us promoted in the top three had he been allowed to stay and sign a couple of more players.
