Neil McDonald racked up nearly 300 top flight appearances for Newcastle United, Everton and Oldham (at Oldham first season of the Premier League). He’s got a lot of top flight playing experience, and coaching. Vastly more than Whing, Clemence, Dunn.
It’s worth noting those games you mention were played in the 80’s.
How was your trip yesterday??? 😂😂😂

To be honest the way we capitulated under wild second half of that season he deserved the chop. I understand that we were looking up rather then down under him but still that was horrendous

It doesn’t take much to cause movement in next manager betting at our level - Mike Williamson went from 16’s to 6/1 because a couple of Carlisle fans threw 50p at him earlier in the betting

Agents often use betting markets to circulate their client out there - throw a small amount on them - make the odds start to fall - media publications pick up on it and mention their client as being in the running and voila

It’s when they go to 1/10 or betting gets suspended that you know that there’s something brewing

I hope we don't rush to make an appointment before we see what McDonald can do.

Possible that there was more to it than that...

Totally agree - let's see what Macca can bring to the table, starting Friday night, and tek it from there.

Sounds like Bristol Rovers have snapped up Steve Evans

Of course; just in time for our game against them on 4th January.
Don't let the old man in.

Let's give McDonald a chance to start with.

But whats stopping us employing someone like Rehanne Skinner?

She has lead all England youth sides from U-16 to U-21’s and has experience coaching in European competitions.

When she took over Spurs Women they were a point from safety and managed 8th place then built on that the season after and finished 5th. Shes done exceptionally well at West Ham Ladies.

Young manager
International Management Experience
Vast network having worked at many English teams
Phil Nevilles Assistant for England

Interesting to note that Rehanne has been released from her contract at West Ham Women.

Could be happening this.

Wasn't there a rumour that Hope Powell ( ex Lionesses manager) put in for the job on a previous occasion.

I can’t see what sacking Whing has achieved. If anything it has destabilised the club at a vital stage of the season. Looks more and more like a panic measure with no clear plan for a replacement. In the meantime who takes charge? Someone who was assistant manager at non league Hartlepool a couple of months ago with a career win percentage of 33%!Way to go Barrow! 1500 tonight?
