There's 9 player's involved in the celebrations it was nothing like you insinuated just stirring up trouble that's not an opinion!blue blue boy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 3:33 pm Fair enough opinions are like bum holes we've all got one but for me it was the same both from Canavan and Gordon's goals, hardly exactly pumped up but if you see if different that's fine. Dear PJpjdaly wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 10:18 am Wintergreen . . . re the picture on page one of this thread, which you posted just before kick-off yesterday, with the accompanying caption "anything could happen in the next half-hour" . . .
Well, yes, it did . . .
Trouble is, it seems we forgot that anything could happen in the LAST half-hour too . . .
And it definitely did . . .
Obvious lesson? Any WASP worthy of the badge needs to sting for 90 minutes, not 30.
Well that certainly wasn’t F.A.B. yesterday was it? Like me I know you like to be philosophical re AFC and treat triumph and adversity both the same but Christ on a penny farthing I didn’t expect to be smashed for three by the Titan terror fish in the second half. I’m afraid the last rendition of Captain Smugwash was just too much for me to bear and I retreated to my Hall of Fame eschewing the RC post mortem. In that silent and darkening place I looked out of the window and wondered if a jump from such a height would be enough to end my cod-induced turmoil. But over there by said window my focus came upon the framed heroes of yesteryear; Brian Arrowsmith, Mick Hartland, Paul Jones, Kenny Lowe, Jason Walker and my life-sized cardboard Jimmy Capstick display feature. In this moody fugue I thought what would the greats have done in this situation? Then I knew – they wouldn’t chuck themselves through the window but would be straining at the bit to fight the good fight and put things to rights the following Saturday. As must we even though we be croaky-voiced veterans who dared to dream. Battlestations indeed.

Agreed. I couldn't understand the original point as what I saw was almost the whole team surrounding Canavan and celebrating after he scored.blue nige wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 5:17 pmThere's 9 player's involved in the celebrations it was nothing like you insinuated just stirring up trouble that's not an opinion!blue blue boy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 22, 2026 3:33 pm Fair enough opinions are like bum holes we've all got one but for me it was the same both from Canavan and Gordon's goals, hardly exactly pumped up but if you see if different that's fine. Very good, Wintergreen! I'd apply one of those laughing emoji-thingies if I knew how to. Perhaps Aqua Marina could come to our rescue? That would be two players for the price of one but the first one probably now thinks he's on a better bet at Harrogate and the other one might think there's no point in trying as this could be the last of the summer wine. I wouldn't make Aqua Marina captain though as she never had much to say, (but she did have a knack of ending up on the winning side).
