As bad as they’ve been this season some of our players will be well above average in NL.

I can see your argument but that's looking at individual players.

The trouble with this season is that they never played together as a group that wanted to play together.

You can sometimes overcome deficiencies in some by the rest rallying around. This lot didn't want to know each other.

I believe there were factions and cliques in the team and the dressing room which none of the many managers could put right.

If you stick with this lot you will get the same next season. Saving grace is that some will move on due to the reduction in wages and the trek down the A590.

He's too small, can't head the ball, can't tackle and picks up a booking early in most games

Exactly. The guy was clearly an inside forward, playing down the left wing, and trying to cut inside, and get it onto his right.

Smith kept retreating and let him come inside. He HAD to keep him on his left/give him the wing and then try and make a tackle or block from there.

We need a proper right back. Square pegs in round holes are not a solution!

I’d like to see the stats on how many goals have came down our right this season, even more than when Tyrell Warren was playing there! To not have an orthodox full back or wingback even and insist on playing two wingers there was astounding. Wasted people out of position and severely weakened us and meant we didn’t have much option of a flat back four unless Jackson played on the right which then weakened us at left back with the awful Anderson and Shipley. Smith started off ok Saturday but clearly isn’t a full back and tired as the game went on and after they hit the bar we didn’t heed the warning and it was inevitable. When Jack Thompson came in under Gallagher I did wonder then and he was nowhere near what was needed but himself isn’t a full back anyways. Another baffling decision in a season full of them.

Stanway, MJ, Smith, McCann, Rose, Whitfield if fit, Fletcher, Raglan. Would even stretch to Jackson and Shipley.

Plenty to get rid of but need to keep some. Signing a whole new squad is a recipe for further disaster.

I'd add Anderson - he's young and will only improve with game time at the lower level.
I'd add Innes Cameron. 7 goals in the last 5 or 6 weeks;- 2 thumping headers, 2 from about 18 yards and 3 goal poacher type goals. If we actually give him some decent crosses he'll score at NL level.
I agree with your caution about Whitfield - he'll do OK at NL level IF he's fit.
I'd keep Barratt on yesterday's showing.

I think we'll get offers for Stanway and McCann and they'll move on.

One player i'd like to get in on loan is a young lad from Rangers who was at Raith Rovers on loan this season and picked up 4 awards at their end of season awards night;- Paul Nsio a 20 year old box to box tackling midfield player, he's being likened to a young Steven Gerard.

Great minds think alike. I watched the Raith Rovers highlights and was particularly interested in Nsio. He looked a class above anyone else on the park. Once i saw he was on loan from Rangers i forgot all about him.

Coglan was brought in to assess the squad ,the problem we have is the contracts when Paul Hornby mentioned about them he was a bit vague just saying they'll all have a reduction in wages.
I would have thought that to avoid any problems that it should have stated that in the event of relegation the club have a right to either terminate or re negotiate a new contract, whether they could have done this would have to be explained by a lawyer!
I just hope we haven't messed these contracts up or we really are in trouble!

we were linked with a different Rangers youngster in January, although nothing came of it - so it sounds like there must still be some possible connections. The link was (from memory) in the Scottish press. NSIO is actually from London so moving this far south from Glasgow shouldn't be an issue for him.
