Probably ties in with the original statement about actions being louder than words.

Re: Wood Gone
As you always remind us, Pedro, look what happened when Don McEvoy returned.
Don't let the old man in.
Re: Wood Gone
Statement short and not too sweet, but they might have thought anything else would be a bit hypocritcal under the circumstances.
Re: Wood Gone
Bring Dino back. That would encourage the shirkers to leave .
Re: Wood Gone
When people were originally calling for his head in October/November time I was on the 'be careful what you wish for' side of the fence as his first 12-24 months were a reasonable success, Wild brought into the fold, a decent squad had been put together. He also seemed to have professionalised the setup - no doubt Cooper would have exaggerated as he was full of excuses but the training ground situation seemed to be a joke in our first two seasons in the EFL. It wasn't so long ago people were panicking about him joining Carlisle as well....
However, things got worse the more responsibility he gained. His position was untenable in the end, you can't go through a season as farcical as this one without changes higher up.

Re: Wood Gone
I can't disagree with any of that. Unfortunately most supporters have short memories. Even the appointment of Clemence was looking a good appointment. Top odf league 2 when we went to Chelsea.Matty wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 4:46 pm When people were originally calling for his head in October/November time I was on the 'be careful what you wish for' side of the fence as his first 12-24 months were a reasonable success, Wild brought into the fold, a decent squad had been put together. Re: Wood Gone
At the time his stock was high after the two good seasons with Wild and following the appointment of Clemence we were top of league 2. Im certain at the time his name will have been in the conversation amongst the Carlisle hierarchybluessupporter wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 5:48 pmDo you think that was a genuine possibility or was it just speculation after someone started a rumour?
