Why would an experienced manager with any kind of track record want to join Barrow after this seasons revolving door. Getting relegated is one thing, but the manner in which we went about everything after sacking Whing has made us a laughing stock.

Because managers of football clubs always believe their own hype - and they like a challenge and always believe this time it will be different. Any manager coming to Barrow will be signing a contract and have some kind of protection so it’s a win win do well get other opportunities do badly and get paid off anyway.

How many managers did we go through the season before Evatt took over - 4 was it ? I’m sure there will be plenty of applicants they probably have someone lined up already

I've never said there wouldn't be applicants. I just think the good ones with a track record wouldn't touch Barrow with a bargepole at the moment. It's not the Premier League where a pay off sets you up for life. With the exception of Pete Wild who is operating at the same level none of the managers whilst we've been in the league have gone on to get other opportunities of any consequence that I'm aware of. I'm sorry but we're not a 'win win' opportunity, as I said we're a laughing stock and any managers' agents would be well aware of that. I won't repeat myself again on here as it's probably a bit tedious for everyone but I'm not holding my breath ahead of an experienced and exciting being appointment made.

Barrow is a good club to start at.
Evatt who I never liked for his off field activities was hungry and ambitious plus wanted to show Chesterfield they were wrong not to give him the Managers job.

He touted himself to the highest bidder , Fylde being one
Managers should see it as a stepping stone.
The board are genuine but naive.
How the hell Gallagher was given the job he was totally lethargic on the touchline..
Football is full of charlatans.
Football has not changed at this level we need to go back to basics.

Wild we tried bringing back a former successful Manager Don MCevoy in the 60s.
It never works.
We need to look at people's credentials and more importantly there attitude.
We need people who can interrogate the candidates and provoke them to see the attitude and the metal they are made off.

Darrell Clarke would be my shout, knows the lower leagues well and has had promotions. Last job going back to Bristol rovers didnt end well but he’ll have a point to prove. I’d also liked Maamria to have stayed but I can’t see him returning any more than Wild now.

Time for a fresh start.

An outside shout John Rooney but this is only his first season as a manager so might be too soon but he’s had a great season there, beaten in the play offs yesterday.

One thing that did shine this season was the pitch. Looks like Gareth and the team have got it to a standard that they and everyone had hoped for and deserve huge credit, hopefully the budget will allow that hard work to continue as it’s a huge asset, we just need to get a team together worthy of playing on it now

You’re right Mcmark, That’s the best I’ve ever seen Holker st. It might have been wise after the collapse at Fleetwood to swap groundsman and they could turn Holker st into the same sandpit of a pitch like their’s for our Donkey’s to feel more at home!

Don’t think he’d want it. He’s said himself on a few occasions that he is a coach, not a manager

He has always said he doesn't want to be a manager but perhaps we could persuade the new manager to take him on, although they usually have their own in mind.

Rob Kelly is assistant manager at Reading.

Why would he leave there to be a coach at non-league Barrow?

They are a huge club for League One, will be paying him more than we can offer. Also closer to his home.

He won’t be leaving there to come back here.

For me we need one in the next couple of weeks in order to set us properly for next season with a plan and the right recruitment.
