I fully expect us to be announcing a new manager a couple of weeks before the season starts, any later and we could be struggling !!

For me we need one in the next couple of weeks in order to set us properly for next season with a plan and the right recruitment.

With the season starting on August 8th having a new manger in post by the end of the next two weeks is crucial IMO.

This rebuild goes beyond the first team. The entire club needs a rebuild of its structure. The departed CEO- Is this senior exec role to be filled or are they going to go without? As important a job off the pitch as the First team Manager is on it. There will surely need to be a senior role to oversee the day to day and deliver the boards vision.

Director of Football- yes or no? Supporting the board and Manager decision making- (no not picking the transfer targets) but the link between the football matters and the board. Also there to develop any ambitions for B team, youth set up, Ladies team.

Are we still going to operate as if we are still a league club, ie maintain any of the overarching processes required by EFL so the club still thinks and operates as a league, or do we roll this back.

Obviously there will need to be a cost cutting exercise. Which area will be scaled back. Will we have a competitive player budget

What are the board expectations on and off the pitch.

Then we can understand where we are going a bit clearer

Going by the lack of any plan when we sacked Andy Whing and the poor decisions Hornby and co have made my faith in them doing what you have said Jonty that are essential imo is somewhat limited

Assistant Head Coaches Simon Ireland and Graham Coughlan, First Team Coach David Worrall, Head of Medical Karly Bland and Goalkeeping Coach Ali Uzunhasanoglu have all left their positions with immediate effect.

It looks like a total purge is in progress and that business definitely hasn’t finished yet.
Interesting times ahead for sure in who comes in to drive our club forward and who they bring in to assist in making sure that is exactly what happens.

Had to have a clear out to cut costs but also a new Manager will want his own people.
Hopefully that won't be Pete Wild .
Reading the Tranmere forum it's mixed views.
I think the fact that there were two poor teams below them kept them up.
In 10 games he won 1 drew 3 lost 6.
Pallios selling up and has stated the new Manager will be appointed by whoever buys Tranmere and the released list done then as well.

Barrow will always be restricted by a small fan base and lack of cash....perpetually a borderline league club, div.2 at best. Strikes me why BAE doesnt step in and pay for naming rights to Holker street. 10.000 skilled men and women of Barrow helped BAE generate a 3 billion pound profit in 2025. Surely 1 million pounds to the club wouldn't be a problem. That's 100 pound per employee or 2 pound per week. Enough to at least pay for a quality set of players rather than the strays that usually find their way to Barrow. Even Airbus UK is an attempt at rewarding employees with a half decent team.
