I will admit that I haven't been a believer so far, but what if Murray had it bang on about the poison players at the club?
I hope I will be one of many people that owe him an apology at the end of the season.

The poisen is the negativity..

And it goes beyond the players unfortunately.

I just hope that people start to believe and also trust the manager, players and board!

Let them do their bit, let's get our bit back to where it should be and make our own place hell for anyone visiting!!!

Well that was painful. If you score 4 goals then you deserve to win, but we were naive, not brave enough and defended like amateurs at times. That was probably the worst refereeing display I have seen this or last season, and he contributed to the game becoming push me pull you event. Had he cracked down on al the stuff that went on in the first half, it would have been a far better game of football.
Well done for the result but if that is your normal style then I'm not too sure I would want to watch it regularly.

To be fair, our players were right up for making sure you couldn't play.

Fitness and stamina come into this. Chasing a ball is harder than playing with the ball and to be fair to us, we showed today that we have the fitness levels to all the way.

Loosing is a bitter pill to swallow no matter what game you play, we had a plan, we carried that out and won.

The more this team played together, the more I think that nobody will break us down.. so I get what you are saying but we won on strength and character, maybe not pure football but we out smarted you.

And also..there were moments when we played some decent football too..not many, but we did..

BBC Essex saying our game plan worked and the ref helped us. Not the football I want to watch I’ll be honest but looks like we will be a no football scrappy side. If we get results can we complain

Problem? Just saying what they said on radio, didn’t see it so cant confirm. I would rather watch a decent game of football than a scrap and foul after foul so what?

TBH that game, despite the fantastic result, was just a tad bonkers. Before the game started and when asked, I suggested one of two things would happen. Either Southend's slicker passing game and width would eventually overwhelm our high press and rather stodgy back line. Or alternatively, the physical nature of our tactics would break up the rhythm of the game and that would be to our benefit. If we feared the former, we got the latter. Aided by a pretty useless official (who I believe has previous with Southend) and who instinctively refused to let the game flow. Stop/Start is not great to watch but in this case was very good for us.

Therein lay the means to slay the Southend dragon. They became increasingly frustrated, irritable and ultimately inclined to adopt the tactics being used against them. The other factor in play was the forced introduction of young Sims the loanee keeper from Charlton. Think it was his first game and his relationship with his defence was like a meeting of strangers. He seemed glued to his line and the sense of creeping doubt between him and his back line was palpable. That's the only way I can explain the ridiculous own goal that gave us our third.

Mooney's goal was one of best I've seen from us in a long time. We may now be in the process of developing a potent forward threat. Other than that we worked incredibly hard and never avoided a challenge. I still think we are overly physical - shoving, pushing, grappling, pulling. I'll never like that even if it does yield results. But the evidence seems be that it does yield results. But what I did enjoy was the response of the team to conceding the two goals and then coming right back at Southend. That felt just like the old days. There is clearly some spirit within the camp and they do seem to be improving.

Sims wasn’t a loanee from Charlton

He’s 26 and has played for a host of clubs and was suttons 1st choice a couple of seasons ago

At the end of the day it's a results based game.
How many times have we seen us play good football and get beat.
Some of the forwards we have can play but we rough teams up.
At the end of the season if we go back up will anyone care how we play.
Mccan,Whitfield all scored again today but we managed to get 4.

That 1st half grind disrupted their plans as we began to beat them up both physically & mentally which paved the way for that 2nd half demolition, Still improving & gelling but the never say die spirit is a joy to see unlike the football but I don't care as long as we win.

Interesting season ahead now the monkeys off our backs.

Loved the commitment , team spirit and fighting qualities shown by the team today. If we had had half of that on display last season there’s no way we would have been relegated. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute in what was an intimidating atmosphere. It would appear we have the makings of a very good competitive team and who knows where we may end up this season !

The home commentary against Worthing said it was a rugby match and Barrow haven't turned up to play football, today it was a judo match and wrestling again Barrow with no interest in playing football, many forum members are disgusted with the Murray hoof ball tactics and even could stop attending if it continues, are our tactics really that bad.

Think people should listen to Kieran Dyer interview.
Really decent and honest acknowledging how we played to our strengths breaking up play ,pulling shirts etc .
Like the bit where he says we are good at the dark arts !!
