Re: Morecambe FC
Wasn’t ownership transferred to a painter & decorator for a quid & a taxi driver manager ? Or is my memory fried. That was in connection with us playing Chester in the fa cup and as the ownership issue wasn’t resolved at that time Vaughan was ‘technically’ still owner of the club and theref...

Re: Morecambe FC
Steve Cherry tree holdings springs to mind ! Yes you are correct they were one company involved and the more public one - the one I mentioned was I think an Irish registered company which owned or had links to cherry tree (and ‘financed’ it) - there was a lot of stuff that never came out as it didn...

Re: Morecambe FC
Yes. Strangely, this was one of the few times in our history when the FA came to our aid. No NLN at the time and no procedures in place for what happens when a club essentially fails but does not fold. Our situation at the time was unprecedented. It required a one- off decision to be made by the FA...

Re: Tonight's League (Carabao) Cup Draw
Take off VAT and expenses and it will be lower - but still a good pay daysaltcellar wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 11:19 pm If 37,000 attend and pay the lowest category price of £27 then Barrow's 40% share would be about £400,000
Let's hope we get that.

Not sure it will be as high as that unless there is some additional TV money involvedblumooncrab wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 11:03 pm I reckon £500k into the club . Clemence a Spur ! This is totally deserved. Time the gods shone on us and they did !

Best full back I’ve seen at Holker Street
His performance at Wembley was outstanding
Always played with a smile on his face

Re: Brian Keen
Think we also have to remember that the Football League wanted us relegated to the foot of the pyramid and it was Brian who persuaded them to delay the start of our season whilst it was sorted. R. I. P. Brian. The Football League (ie the EFL) were not involved in any way. We were a National League ...

Re: Big Day tomorrow, excitement building.
Don’t think it is Ste Story’s job to stop leaks being posted or identity the people involved - I’d say that the club need to sort it as they should be able to Identify who has such info and when and work out who the mole is So what’s the point in having Mods then? It’s like saying wiki leaks had no...

Re: Big Day tomorrow, excitement building.
Hopefully we will get Crewe at home first game, always nice to start at home. This was mentioned at the qna, PH seemed annoyed at the leaks (as they can draw unwanted attention) End of the day this forums hosted on a server, (presume owned by Ste Story?) where the admin identify any IP, as each acc...

I see that several of you can’t act sensibly and decide to have an argument/debate and resort to name calling I deleted the initial posts made which some reported as offensive in thehope people would go back to talking about football. It seems some of you would rather just name call and bicker and a...

Re: BBC Northwest
I always thought that we were/are the AFC to differentiate from the RLFC…if my memory of the back pages of the Evening Mail is correct. Always struck me that there weren’t many other towns with two teams of different codes of football shared the same (town) name without a Rovers or a Hornets or suc...

Re: BBC Northwest
I didn’t realise having an opinion was “petty moaning” a thousand apologies if I’ve offended anyone. All publicity is good publicity I’m just asking a question why do some media outlets insist on calling us AFC. All clubs in the Football League are AFC. Might be wrong but when we were liquidated di...
