Casson 's six man hitlist
Re: Casson 's six man hitlist
Nothing wrong with loans if they are good enough. I think Howarth and (dare I say it) even Goodfellow looked better as loanees than on contract.
Regarding Cox's 'baptism of fire' article, I think simply achieving safety as early as possible is all we can aim for, then starting to get organised a bit better for next season.

Re: Casson 's six man hitlist
22nd Nov - "When Casson held talks with Cox the boss indicated that a push for the play-off positions was still not completely out of the question this season. If securing a play-off place is not possible Casson, having done his sums, would be happy with Barrow finishing in an upper-mid-table position – something like ‘seventh, eight or ninth’ – with a view to them having a better crack at promotion honours next season.
“At the end of the season I want to believe that we have the platform in place to give it a real go next year,” said Casson. “I just want season-long excitement. I want to be in the cup competitions"
Well, if we can't have a run in the Trophy, at least a relegation battle will keep things interesting.

Reece Styche has been released by Kiddy by mutual consent though I suspect this may be 'injury' related. He was on loan at Macc but returned to Kidderminster with a back injury.

Another example of stupid expectations. I can see us going round in circles every season, sacking and hiring managers for not getting us promoted while the playing staff go through a swift revolving door.Lancaster Branch wrote:22nd Nov - "When Casson held talks with Cox the boss indicated that a push for the play-off positions was still not completely out of the question this season. What 's happening with the lad we loaned from CUFC who suffered that freakish injury within mins of playing for us, Surely he is back playing now, Could we see him resurface?

Re: Casson 's six man hitlist
I think Mister Cox has a problem here regarding recruits. The stark reality of the industrial side of Morecambe bay from the balmy attractions of Torbay, English Riviera, has yet to sink in with him. The decent players in his sights and has lost to other clubs, (as mentioned above), has been due to "location, location, location."
