How much money will the club get if we were to get promoted? £1million maybe or am I way off? Anyway my point is if we do get that much for going up then why doesn't he splash out and buy the league and get his money back. The sooner we start winning the sooner bigger crowds come back and that's where he'll make his money! He said he's running us like a business so he's only going to put in what he's getting back but the way we are going there won't be many fans left by the end of the season. Please PC spend some [SwearFilter] money and I'm sure you'll get it back in a season or 2!

Look at years gone by. We were pulling in 2k+ for games like Oxford at home, the unbeaten Conf North run etc. The support is there but there needs to be a way of tapping into that percentage that are staying away for whatever reason.

I do think that there seems to be a bit of a disconnection between supporters and the club which has been the case since we were in the final couple of years of the Keens tenure. Have we actually felt any sort of connection to any of our squads since the days of Paul Jones, Matt Henry, Mcnulty etc? The club is ran more like an every day business rather than a football club type of business. I think if we got the basics (from my previous post) right and then stopped pandering exclusively to corporate types then we might start to see a change in attitude on our part.

Not so many season's ago I would literally do anything to get to games, these days I can give or take it whether I attend. It just doesn't feel like it used to. I'm not being nostalgic or anything I just believe that basic mistakes are being made and that the working class support feel alienated at times.

It's been said lots before. People want to be entertained. They aren't going to turn up in big numbers to watch crap football.
Barrow need to consistently be playing good football & be in the top 3 for attendances to increase substantially. It ain't going to happen. We can't even beat a poor Guiseley side. Don't think we can put it down to bad weather conditions either.

I think the loyal support has had its expectations raised and then lowered too many times in the era you mention and this has impacted on the feeling and atmosphere at h/s. A good number of the old support are no longer with us and they grew up on watching Barrow Afc. The days of expecting to watch a hard game of football, players we felt of as mates, getting that big win and then going on to the pub with mates and getting drunk were the best though, great times and hope they return

You mean instead of the stability we have now three years on from his takeover?
Suppose you are right the way the club was going pre Casson we would have to reduced the playing and management staff and sell the best players we really have moved forward!

Agree with this statement. There's no busting a gut to get to games anymore. From top to bottom, chairman to fans, the whole club is so flat which reflects on the coaching side and ultimately the pitch.
